Today,
I want to share another card using the Wonderful Year stamps with you.
This one uses a different colour palette to yesterday's card resulting
in a totally different overall feel to the card.
The words are heat embossed using Real Red ink and clear embossing powder to give the shiny raised image. I have always used this recipe for heat embossing to get a coloured image - you just have to be quick to apply the powder to the ink before it drys!
At the OnStage event at the weekend I picked up a tip, from one of the demonstrators who presented projects to us, to do coloured heat embossing in a slightly different way. Heat embossing with metallic or white powders is easy - stamp the image using Versamark ink, cover with powder and heat. Voila! Magic happens!
The tip I learned at the weekend was to combine these two methods to achieve embossed coloured images - ink the image with Versamark ink, tap it onto the coloured ink you want your image to be, stamp the image, cover it with clear embossing powder and then heat. Make sure you get the inking order the right way round - Versamark first then coloured ink (not the other way round or you will change the colour of your Versamark pad!).
Our family has lots of birthdays to celebrate in November, so I am on a mission to make birthday cards today. Hope you are going to have some time to craft today too.
