Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing another card made with the Positive Thoughts stamps and the Nature's Thoughts Dies. I had such fun creating a butterfly card using these sets that I wanted to have a go at making a similar card, but different. So, I have used the same colour combination of Rococo Rose, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake but I have predominantly used floral images, instead of butterflies, as the focal point. You can see my butterfly card HERE.
I have used the Scripty embossing folder on a layer of Rococo Rose card and then coloured the edges using a Sponge Dauber and matching ink. This is mounted on to an Early Espresso layer and the Crumb Cake base.
The central panel is formed from a die cut Crumb Cake rectangle - I am sure this die is going to be well used. It is fast becoming a favourite! There is a spray of foliage stamped in Crumb Cake, as well as a few lighter (stamped off) images to fill in the background. Again, the edges are inked and it is mounted on to an Early Espresso layer, leaving a skinny border. It emphasises the inked edges, don't you think?
Flowers were stamped with either Early Espresso or Rococo Rose ink on Crumb Cake card and then die cut. The remaining embellishments were also die cut from Crumb Cake card - the small leaves even had a dusting of ink from the sponge dauber around the edges.
Liberal quantities of sparkle were added from the Wink of Stella Glitter pen - splatters on the background and painted over the petals of the flowers. When the light catches it the lustre is just lovely. The sparkly flowers are raised on Dimensionals so that the stalks of the foliage can be hidden underneath them. The sentiment is white heat embossed and fussy cut. All these different textures create a very tactile card - just like nature!
Thank you for visiting my blog - I hope this project has brought a little calm to your day.

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, I am sharing a card using the Positive Thoughts stamps and the coordinating Nature's Thoughts dies that are part of the Coordination Product Release that is currently available to demonstrators and will be available for customers to purchase on 4th February 2020. This is your sneak peak to a release that includes products that coordinate with products from the January - June Mini Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration.
The stamps contain beautiful images from nature together with uplifting sentiments and when they are combined with the dies the creative possibilities simply multiply! This card was dreamed up in my head when I saw The Paper Players sketch challenge for this week. Quite often when I visualise a card in my head there are many modifications before I finish the card. This time the card came together very quickly and it actually turned out how I imagined it in my head. This is the sketch to work with:
I think that the elements from these stamps and dies lend themselves perfectly to the sketch. I certainly enjoyed making it!
I have layered a piece of Rococo Rose InColour Designer Series Paper on to a piece of Early Espresso card and then on to the Crumb Cake card base. To emphasise the DSP I inked the edges using a sponge dauber and coordinating Rococo Rose ink.
The inner layer is a die cut piece of Crumb Cake card, which is the perfect size for our regular 14.8cm x 10.5cm cardbase - lovely even borders all around. Again, the edges have been inked, beautifully highlighting the intricate stitched edge of this rectangular die, before it is mounted onto another Early Espresso layer. This panel is also the ideal size for six butterflies to be displayed...and perfect for this sketch challenge! The Crumb Cake panel has a subtle leafy backdrop for the butterflies. Simply stamp the leaf image using Crumb Cake ink, but first stamp off on to scrap paper for a lighter colour.
The butterflies were stamped using Early Espresso ink, die cut and then coloured using the Rococo Rose Blends. The Wink of Stella Glitter brush adds a touch of sparkle and each butterfly is topped with a tiny die cut butterfly and a gold metalic pearl. Next, I positioned the middle butterfly on the top row and adhered it with a couple of glue dots under the body area, leaving the wings free. It's much easier to achieve even spacing this way! Complete the lower row and then wrap the panel with Natural Linen Thread, topped with a double bow and mount it on to the card base using Dimensionals. Finally, add 'Friends' - this is white heat embossed on Early Espresso card and fussy cut.
This was so enjoyable to make and I can't wait to see some real butterflies in my garden when the Summer arrives. Thank you for visiting my blog today, I hope you enjoyed my project.
