Well Written thanks

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, I am sharing a thank you card made with the Well Written dies and the new In Colors. I am joining in with the weekly challenge over at The Paper Players. This week it is a clean and simple challenge to make a Thank You card - it is always useful to have a few of these on hand.

My card uses left over scraps of card, the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and the fabulous Well Written dies. Look! No stamping! Now, that doesn'thappen very often. I am really pleased that we have Adhesive Sheets back in our catalogue - they make projects like this a breeze. I applied Adhesive Sheet to the card, die cut the Thanks and then they are ready to use. The Well Written die set also includes some little accents that are perfect elements to complete the card. So, with my pile of die-cut stickers, I am ready to assemble the card.

I cut a layer of Whisper White card just wide enough to accommodate the Thanks and embossed it with The Tasteful Textile folder. The texture is subtle, but provides enough definition to separate it from the base card. For fun, I added some foliage, a bird and some flowers. Every little scrap of card was used up!

I'm a happy crafter - tidier desk and a few more Thank You cards to add to my stash. Thank you for visiting my blog today, if you want to purchase the items used for this card, or any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop. You can follow the link or click on the pictures below of the products I have used today.

Stay safe and as always, happy crafting,

Peony Garden - Casing the catalogue

Hello and welcome to my blog. The samples in the catalogue are so eye-catching. I often use them as a way to get familiar with a new set of stamps. For this card I took inspiration from the samples on page 83 of the catalogue and made a couple of simple adjustments. By flipping the orientation, changing the colour of the flower and using an alternative sentiment I have made the same card...but different!

There are just a few layers on this card. The square, Gray Granite card base is covered with a piece of the Peony Garden Designer Series paper. On top of that is a piece of Shimmery White card die cut with the Stitched Shapes dies and embossed witht the Dainty Diamonds folder. It's lifted on dimensionals and the geometric patterns look lovely together.

The flower and leaves are stamped on Shimmery White card using Basic Gray ink, die cut and coloured with Stampin' Blends. I used Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive. The colour of this flower reminds me of the Peony we had in our garden when I was little! Bold and beautiful.

The sentiment is heat embossed in white on a strip of Gray Granite card. The end is trimmed using the border die in the set - it creates the scallopped edge and embossing detail with one pass throughthte die cutting machine. There is a scattering of faceted gems to finish off. They are so pretty.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I had a fun time making this one - creating by casing the catalogue and colouring! If you want to purchase the items used for this card, or any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop. Stay safe and as always, happy crafting,

Kylie's Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop June 2020

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am thrilled to be taking part in a blog hop with fellow demonstrators, from around the world, who are part of Kylie Bertucci's training program. There is no theme for the hop, but there is sure to be a wealth of inspiration for creating with Stampin' Up! products.

I was so excited to unwrap my Peony Garden Suite and begin creating with it. I have always been fascinaetd by peonies - how do the flowers unfurl from such a small tight ball to become such wonderfully huge and voluptuous blooms? I haven't made a home decor piece for a while so I thought that this would be the ideal opportunity - pretty flowers are always great to display!

I made a square shadow frame from Basic Gray cardstock and lined the base with a square of card embossed with the Dainty Diamonds Folder and one of the fabulous square Vellum doilies. Now, I had vowed not to buy any more doilies because the ones I had bought in the past have sat, unloved and unused - even though I thought they were pretty I never used them on my projects! I am allowed to change my mind aren't I? These vellum doilies are beautiful and happy to say that I've started off well and used one in my first project with this suite!

The first thing I did when preparing the pieces for my flower was to scrunch up the Petal Pink card. I unravelled it and then re-scrunched it repeatedly until the fibres in the card were soft and pliable. Then, I die cut the pieces for the flower - I cut an extra piece of the second largest of the layers to give an even fuller look. Using Petal Pink ink and a sponge dauber I emphasised the edges of the petals before assembling the flower, securing the layers with glue dots. The stamen is from Basic Gray card and the leaves are Mossy Meadow and Old Olive. The shimmer ribbon bow is lifted on a double layer of dimensionals so that it is the same depth as the flower. The set of dies includes a fabulous scalloped border which I have used to decorate the edges of the frame.

Thank you for visiting my blog today - you are currently visiting Karen Henderson. Please look at the list below to see who to visit next. I am sure you will find lots of inspiration on your journey around the hop. Make sure you don't miss any!
