Whale Done!

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today, my card features the fabulous Whale Done suite. I pulled this set off the shelf so that I could create something for the Global Design Project theme challenge #GDP287 this week. The theme is By The Sea, so there are lots of beach, sea and seashell cards to look at in the gallery.

I love making fun fold cards, and this is a new one to me. It's a twisted easel card and I was inspired by examples I'd seen by Emma Goddard and Kim Fee - their cards were totally different to each other, and mine is different again; smaller and uses different products!

Some of the products in this suite are retiring when the 2021 Annual Catalogue ends on 3rd May, and are now only available while stocks last - this applies to the embossing folder and the DSP that I have used. However, the stamps and the builder punch are carrying over into the new Annaul Catalogue, but the bundle discount will no longer apply.

The card base is made from Thick Basic White card that measures 10cm x 20cm and is scored at 10cm. For the twisted easel part there is an additional diagonal score line on the card front that extends from the fold line to the outside corner. The decorative part of the card is formed with another square, measuring 9.7cm x 9.7cm made from Balmy Blue card and decorated with DSP - remember to only apply glue to a triangle section, not the whole sqaure!

I have used the Layering Circles dies to desorate the front of the card and to act as the prop to stand the card up. The whale was punched from DSP, although it could have been stamped and punched instead, and sits on an embossed circle of Balmy Blue - I positioned the bubbles to look like they were escaping from the whale and added some Wink of Stella glitter too.

To add to illusion of water I added some Metallic Mesh Ribbon and some of the clear Elegant Faceted gems. The sentiments are stamped in Pacific Point and there are also some tone on tone fishes and bubbles stamped on the smaller circle.

This was such a fun card to make and I will certainly be using this fun fold template again. I hope you have been inspired! If you want to purchase the items used for this card, or any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop. Customer Thank You cards for April 2021 - Kylie's Demonstrator training Program Blog Hop

Hello! I am participating in a blog hop organised by Kylie and Bruno Bertucci as part of their Demonstrator Training Program. We are a group of Demonstrators from around the world who are taking part in the training that is helping us with our Stampin' Up!® business. So, whether you are a regular visitor or if you have hopped in from another blog, I am delighted to welcome you here to my blog!

We are sharing ideas for Thank You cards to send to our customers duing April 2021. If you place an order with me during April you will receive one of these cards as a thank you for your purchase!

Butterflies are the focal point of these thank you cards - they are so pretty! The fabulous Butterfly Brilliance bundle from the new Annual Catalogue has been released for sale ahead of the launch of the new catalogue on 4th May and is available to purchase right now!

In a supporting role, I used the Ornate Thanks stamps, the Ornate Layers dies and the Layering Circles dies together with two embossing folders; Tasteful Textile and Brick & Mortar.

I stamped the large background stamp twice in Melon Mambo - one to create the tone on tone layer and the second for the fluttering butterfly in the centre. Firstly, I used the largest of the Ornate dies and selected the section I wanted to act as the background. Then, using the second stamped image and the large, one piece coordinating die I cut out the individual butterflies. In addition, I used one of the detailed single dies to cut the intricate butterfly overlay from Vellum.

The pretty Opal Rounds decorate the butterfly's body and hide the glue dots attaching the Vellum! The Ornate Thanks stamps allow you to create a variety of thank you messages - I chose to pair ever so much with the large THANKS. They are both stamped in Melon Mambo for the totally coordinated look!

Thank you so much for visiting today, I hope you have been inspired! As mentioned at the beginning, this is a blog hop so make sure you hop around to see the other amazing projects on the hop! Click on the links below to visit them.

Stamping Inkspirations - April 2021 Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am taking part in a blog hop with some fellow enthusiasts who love sharing theircreative talents using their Stampin' Up!® products. This month the Stamping Inkspirations blog hop is all about birthdays and celebrations.

Sending out happy post is such a joy. M
aking and sending birthday cards is always a pleasure - especially when it has been impossible to meet up in person and share the celebrations of a special day.

The In Bloom bundle is fabulous, but it is the Pierced Blooms dies that have really caught my attention! I love all the stitched details!

I took a pile of card offcuts and cut a heap of flowers and leaves. I ended up with quite a few and a dilemma...should I group them by colour or style? Today I have used predominately pastel colours, including two of the retiring InColors Seaside Spray and Rococo Rose. There is also some Soft Sea Foam, So Saffron and Basic Black for the centres. Pastel colours and Spring go hand in hand, don't they?

The Soft Sea Foam card base is covered with a matching layer that has been embossed with the Brick& Mortar folder. The flowers are displayed on a Basic White panel (embossed with the Tasteful Textile folder). This panel and the Happy Birthday sentiment are outlined with black to make them pop - the black layer is only marginally bigger, but it makes such a difference.

I'm not sure if the flowers are botanically accurate, although the So Saffron ones remind me of English Primroses, but they are pretty. Fingers crossed that these flowers bring a smile to the birthday recipient!

I hope that you are inspired by my card today and that you will continue along the hop to see what the others have created too - Susan is next. Enjoy the projects. We would love to hear from you and so if you have been inspired, please leave a comment.
