World of Good Adventure

Hello and welcome to my blog. The launch of the new catalogue is just around the corner and today I am sharing a sneak peek at some of the new the new products. As a demonstrator we are given the opportunity to pre-order from a selection of products in the new catalogue ahead of the launch date. It's a perk of being a demonstrator!

The first suite that I have created with is called World of Good. There is a travel theme in the suite which includes stamps, dies, specialty Designer Series Paper (with brass foil designs on some of the sheets), Brass foil sheets, Memories and More cards, faux suede trim and antiqued trinkets. Perfect for celebrating and documenting adventures, whether they be planned, new or old ones.

I took a piece of designer series paper and white heat embossed the two globe images reapeatedly over it. The scripty background on the paper is a great foil for them and is offset on a layer of Early Espresso. I used another new product for the message - we have a new label making punch, the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, which enables you to punch two different designs in three different widths. They can be mixed and matched and layer beautifully! I punched out a strip of Mossy Meadow and a wider one in Early Espresso. The words were then stamped and heat embossed in gold on the Mossy Meadow strip - I found it easier to punch the end of the strip first so that I could position the words where I wanted them.

To finish I added some of the Faux Suede ribbon and an antique slide - it made me think of a strap you'd wrap around an old fashioned luggage bag! This layer is popped up, using black Dimensionals, and mounted on a MossyMeadow card base.

Whilst I won't be travelling very far in the near future, using these products will be the next best thing. Using them will be a good opportunity to document my daughter's 2019 inter-railing trip!

Introducing the new InColors for 2020-2021

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have been experimenting with some of the new products I ordered from the new Annual Cataloge that will launch on 3rd June. Each year there are a new set of InColors to work with, and they stay with us for two years. The five brand new InColors to introduce for 2020-2021 are: Misty Moonlight, Just Jade, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider and Magenta Madness. There is a whole array of products featuring these new colours including card stock, inkpads, markers, ribbons, Designer Series Paper and more.

I've made a few things to familiarise myself with these new colours. The Hello cards show that as a group they work together or you could split them up and mix and match with you favourites from the Core Colors.

I have also made up some colour swatches that I store on book rings. I use a 5cm strip of card and punch the end using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I have one set arranged by Color Family and another arranged in rainbow order. The rainbow order is really good for helping to pick out coordinating colours.

I know you shouldn't pick favourites, but of the new colours, I can't help but be drawn to Misty Moonlight. I am allowed to change my mind though, and I'm sure I will as I use them some more!

New Annual Catalogue items, including the 2020-2021 InColor products will be available in my online Stampin' Up! shop from 3rd June.  If you want to purchase any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop.  You can follow the link or click on the pictures below of the products I have used today.

Beautiful Friendship

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, I have created a card inspired by the colour combination over on The Paper Players challenge this week. The combination of Melon Mambo, Pool Party and Granny Apple Green is bright, vibrant and bold.

http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2020/05/pp490-color-challenge-from-claire.html

These colours make me think of flowers and so I grabbed my Beautiful Friendship stamps and started to work on a small piece of Whisper White card that nests snuggly inside the largest of the rectangular dies from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

I stamped the blossom/hydrangea stamp all over the little white piece to create a background - I used Pool Party ink and stamped off first so that the colour was quite pale. Then, I added large Melon Mambo roses in the centre and a couple of smaller Pool Party ones to fill in the edges. I wanted the leaves to appear in the background, so I used small pieces of PostIt note to mask the petals before applying the inked leaf stamp. My little piece of art was finished off with some splatters from the Wink of Stella Glitter Pen!

The layer of embossed vellum under the framed art tones down the brightness of the Melon Mambo card base to a more muted shade, and don't those flourishes look fabulous?

Why don't yu have a go at making your own little framed art piece. The Stitched So Sweetly dies are just perfect for the job! If you want to purchase the items used for this card, or any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop.  You can follow the link or click on the pictures below of the products I have used today.

Stay safe and as always, happy crafting,

Kylie's Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop May 2020

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am thrilled to be taking part in a blog hop with fellow demonstrators, from around the world, who are part of Kylie Bertucci's training program. There is no theme for the hop, but there is sure to be a wealth of inspiration for creating with Stampin' Up! products.

As Demonstrators we have the opportunity to order a selection of items from the New Annual catalogue in advance of its launch in June. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my pre-order products and I can't wait to start creating with them. It is always fun to create with brand new things isn't it? And, did you know that you can add pre-order products to your starter kit when you join? While I wait patiently for my pre-order to arrive, I can continue with my mission to show some love to some of my neglected or soon to retire products.

The Birthday Bonanza Papers are bright and colourful and I will be sad to see them retire because I have loved using them. Make sure you add them to your shopping basket before they are gone forever.

I have made a stack of simple cards as a cheerful way to keep in touch while we are separated at home and not seeing anyone. I used three rectangles of paper and mounted them onto a black layer, which was in turn mounted onto either a Bermuda Bay or a Grapefruit Grove {retiring} card base. They are topped with two layers cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies and finished off with a greeting. The words are heat embossed in white, die cut using the smallest circle from the Layering Circles dies and popped up on a dimensional. {The hello comes from the Timeless Tulips stamp set, and the other two sentiments come from the retiring Check You Out set.}

The simplicity of these cards really allows the Designer Series Paper to shine and I think that I will try this layout with some other papers too. Thank you for visiting my blog today - you are currently visiting Karen Henderson. Please look at the list below to see who to visit next. I am sure you will find lots of inspiration on your journey around the hop. Make sure you don't miss any!
