Gorgeously Made Thank You for the International Highlights Winner's Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog. Earlier in the month, I participated in Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights and after the voting had closed I was delighted to find myself in the Top Ten!

Thank you so much to everyone who visited the gallery and voted for my card. If you missed it, you can read all about it here. I am absolutely thrilled to be eligible to take part in this winner's hop.

For my card for today I have chosen to use the same stamp set, but the overall feel of the card is much softer just by focussing on a different colour!

I started with the Fresh Freesia DSP that is decorated with a subtle text and leaf pattern. I added a Pretty Peacock frame, cut with the Scalloped Contour dies, and to that I added a textured layer of Bubble Bath cardstock - if truth were told I was planning on using a layer of Fresh Freesia, but an offcut of Bubble Bath card had been misfiled with my Fresh Freesia! I quite liked this happy accident and went with it!

When I'm making a card I usually stamp images in multiple colours so that I can decide, by trial and error, which ones work together. The leftovers often make it on to an alternative card. The majority of the leaves on today's Gorgeously Made card are from one such pile. I simply added a spray in Smoky Slate and a Bubble Bath flower to complement the background.

The essence of this card is still the same as my original one. At the centre there is the hand tied bouquet, but the lines are cleaner and the colours are softer. Isn't it fun that we can change the mood of a card by making a few easy tweaks.

Zoo Crew Suite - All-Star Design Team Blog Hop for September 2023

 

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am delighted to be part of the All Star Video Class Group. We create a Video Class Bundle with exclusive tutorials complete with photos, video directions and a supply list that includes both Metric and Imperial measurements, and we also hop together each month sharing another project using the same suite.

This month we are using the Zoo Crew Suite and this is a sneak peek of the projects included in this month's bundle of video tutorials.

Thank you for joining me today for the All Star Design Team Video Class Bundle Blog Hop for September 2023. At the start of each month, each of creates another project using the featured suite of products to give you even more inspiration. Here is my additional Zoo Crew Suite project.

I fussy cut a selection of animals from the Designer Series Paper and chose this delightful dancer to be the star of the show on my card. I used the Radiating Stitches dies to create frames for my swing card. The star design on the DSP is perfect and really pops against the Parakeet Party base card, which I picked to match the tutu!

I stamped the Rays of Light image using Lemon Lolly ink and arranged it to look like a spotlight on the stage. I white heat embossed the sentiment, snipped it apart and disgarded the too so that it just says You're Wonderful. To finish off the centre panel I simply used black Baker's Twine and Classic Matte Dots.

 

This suite has so many cute elements and it's really fun to create with it. I hope you feel inspired to create with it too. Gorgeously Made Thank You card for Kylie's International Blog Highlights - September 2023

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights for September 2023 - the theme is Thank you. The Gorgeously Made bundle is new to me and I have been very eager to use it! A bouquet of flowers is always a lovely way to say thank you so I thought that this bundle was perfect for the job!

My aim was to make a bouquet on a card, so I tried to add as much interest and texture as I could. The Fresh Freesia card base is decorated with a Pretty Peacock layer of the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper to which I added a layer of Lost Lagoon. One edge of this layer is die cut to look like a sheet of paper torn from a notebook and then it was over stamped with two images from the stamp set - I chose the distressed writing and the textured lines. For a subtle, tone on tone look they were stamped using Lost Lagoon ink, which was first stamped off on to scrap paper. Then the layer was embossed with the Timeworn Type 3-d embossing folder, the edges were inked and the corners crinkled. Lots of processes, but I think they all add to the charm.

Next, I stamped, heat embossed and/or die cut lots of foliage using Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon and Fresh Freesia card - I love this combination of colours (which comes directly from the DSP). I added a pop of colour with the Lemon Lime Twist leaves and a couple of neutral vellum elements. The flowers are from the Textured Floral set (I couldn't really call it a bouquet without any flowers, could I?) - they are both stamped using Fresh Freesia but one of them was also heat embossed with clear powder to give a darker, shiny effect.

To finish off the card I added Baker's Twine to give the hand-tied effect, a die-cut sentiment banner and a trio of Iridescent Pearls. I love how it turned out. I hope you do too.
