I have been itching to use the Colorful Seasons and Seasonal Layers bundle for quite a while. They have been waiting very patiently on my desk!
Every couple of weeks I participate in a team challenge where the idea is to Inspire, Create and Share on a given theme. This time the challenge was to use the colour combination of Pool Party, Berry Burst and Powder Pink.
The relaxing chair die and the peaceful, beautiful blossom flowers just had to be used! The stamps and dies form part of the Color Theory Suite. This suite includes a 6''x6'' paper stack that contains some papers with gorgeous graduating colours reminiscent of paint colour swatches. I have used the scallop die to emulate this using these pretty pinks and I've added a scattering of pearls to highlight the curves.
A stamp from Touches of Textures is used to create the lacy background behind the chair, and the Happy Birthday comes from the oh so versatile Milestone Moments set.
I am so glad that I have finally used the Colorful Seasons bundle. I can't believe it took me so long!

Teacher Gifts
The best bit about this Highlight is that you can vote for your favourite projects. I would love it if you would vote for my project HERE. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop so please VOTE for my project.
I am very happy to work in an amazing school as a teaching assistant and I am very lucky to have received many fantastic gifts from families. The class I help in is for children aged eight and nine. As a class we celebrate birthdays by giving a card and singing "Happy Birthday". Sometimes there are even sweets or cakes!
For my Teacher Gifts I decided to create two items that could be displayed on a desk, that are both pretty and practical. The first is a box for cards and there is also a smaller version to hold Post-It notes.
I've included a Thank You card and a couple of Birthday cards all using the Pick a Pattern papers teamed up with sentiments from the Pieces and Patterns stamps. The images are such fun!
The Number of Years stamps and matching dies are so useful for all sorts of birthdays and anniversaries - I would be lost without those numbers!
There are a couple of weeks left before the start of the new school term so I am pleased to prepared with pretty items for the teacher's desk!
Thank you for visiting my blog today. I'd be delighted if you visited Kylie's blog to vote for my project. I would love to be chosen to do an international blog hop.

Sending you hugs in the post
Being on the receiving end of a handmade card or gift is always appreciated. It shows that the sender has taken the time to make sure that the recipient feels special. Happy post is always welcome and there should be more of it!
Today I'm sharing a card with you that is perfect to send as happy post. Just right for situations where you need to give a hug but can't actually be there to give it in person.
This card uses two of the gorgeous In Colors; Fresh Fig and Powder Pink. I have combined matching ink, card and washi tape for a smart, coordinated look. To finish I have wrapped white Bakers Twine just below the sentiment and tied a little bow. There are also a few silver metallic enamel shapes to add a hint of shine.
Who will you send a hug to in the post?

More Carols of Christmas
Welcome back to my creative haven. I have another Christmas card using the new Carols of Christmas bundle to share with you. In my last post I mentioned that I love blue, white and silver cards. That combination doesn't have to be exclusively for Christmas, but I think that it does work rather well for that occasion! I also love small, square cards.
So for today's card I'm showing you a cute card that ticks both those boxes! The Card Front Builder thinlits contains a die that naturally creates a rectangular frame for a card front. You can see how I have done this on my card HERE.
It was easy to make a square frame instead. I started with a square layer of Night of Navy card (10cm x 10cm) and cut out one side of the frame. Next, I lined the frame up again in the opposite corners of the layer. The middle section of the die overlaps with the middle section that has already been cut. I secured the die with a couple of pieces of washi tape to ensure that it didn't wobble out of place. After the second pass through the Big Shot I had a lovely square card front all ready for the layer with the words.
The silver element for this card is in the form of silver heat embossing to create another faux frame around the words. The little blue stars in the corners are "waste" from cutting the frames. Waste not, want not! The white layer is popped up on dimentionals so that it sits proud of the blue frame.
Thank you for visiting today. Happy Crafting,
