Metallic Beautiful Friendship as easy as A, B, C
Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing another Copper Soft Suede combination. There are copper flowers, stitched rectangles and tone on tone stamping.
The Stitched Rectangle dies make layering a doddle. I prefer to stamp and then die cut my rectangle so that I can pick my faviourite part of the pattern I have stamped. If I wasn't so indecisive, it might be more productive to die cut a pile of rectangles, stamp away to my hearts content and then there would be a pile of cards ready to go! Anyway, I am glad that the rectangles layer so perfectly. Cards are made as easy as A, B, C...stamp, mount and mount onto a card base.
There is a bit of extra interest on the background of this base card as it is stamped with the blossom stamp using Soft Suede ink to give a subtle tone on tone effect. The little sentiment banner is a lovely frame for the heat embossed words...raised and shiny and copper. Lovely words they are too.
I really like the way these elements work so well together and I hope that you are inspired to try them out.

You are simply wonderful
Hello and welcome to my blog. The cards I am sharing today are for two wonderful people who are simply wonderful! Last weekend I travelled to a team training get together and these cards are my way of saying thank you to the fabulous organisers. I thoroughly enjoyed my day creating beautiful cards and chatting.
The theme over on the Global Design Project this week is Bloom and Grow, so I am joining in with their challenge because, by coincidence, the sentiment I have used comes from one of my favourite stamp sets Bloom & Grow.
Over the summer I used this set again and again using bright summery colours. Now the crisper Autumnal days are here I wanted to use a different colour palette. Simple changes give a refreshed look and I love the lustre of the Celestial Copper ink on the Soft Suede card.
The flower image is heat embossed with copper embossing powder and then die cut using the coordinating Budding Blooms dies. The images are 'watercoloured', or perhaps I should say 'glittered' because I used my Wink of Stella glitter brush to paint with. I pressed a little ink from an ink pad onto a clear block and used that as my palette. The colours are Rich Razzleberry and Shaded Spruce. The remaining foliage is coloured using Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.
The Very Vanilla panel is layered onto copper foil and both layers are cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies. The outer border is decorated using the new Celestial Copper ink and one of the smaller foliage stamps from the stamp set. Perhaps I should go on to make a winter version using these stamps?

Metallic Beautiful Friendship
Hello and welcome to my blog. The card I have to share with you today uses the Beautiful Friendship stamps and the excuisite Celestial Copper metallic ink. The lustre of the ink is superb.
I am following The Paper Players Clean-and-Simple Challenge with a fun Marvelous Metalics theme. Clean and Simple cards have minimal layers and embellisments, open space with a simple and uncluttered feel.
I have teamed up the Celestial Copper ink with Copper Foil and copper heat embossing to emphasise the metallic theme. There is just a hint of Soft Suede too. The smaller roses are stamped in both Copper and Soft Suede inks, well actually it's a mixture of the two colours - guess who didn't clean the stamps well enough before changing colours? It did add a little lustre to the surface of the Soft Suede pad, but it cleaned up ok by wiping it with a tissue, and I'm quite pleased with the outcome. A happy accident giving a darker copper/metallic Soft Suede roses.
I have stamped on Very Vanilla card for a change, and I think it works well with the copper elements. The Beautiful Friendship stamps are DistINKtive which means that the stamps naturally give definition to the images with some areas lighter than others. The background is stamped in copper, as is the large rose stamp but the intensity of the colour is different simply because the stamps are DistINKtive.
The sentiment is stamped on a skinny banner and heat embossed using copper powder - I love the magic of heat embossing! The base card is made of thick Very Vanilla card. The decorated layer sits on top of a copper foil layer with just a narrow border of copper showing.
Thank you for stopping by today. I wonder, do you think I have achieved the brief?
