Little Elephant thank you for November's International Highlights Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog today.  I’m delighted to be taking part in the top 10 winners international highlights blog hop.

Thank you so much to everybody who voted for my project earlier in the month when I took part in the blog highlights to say ‘thank you, Shelli Gardner’.  Your votes for my card have enabled me to take part in this hop today.

I posted my card to Shelli just before I went to the OnStage local event in Birmingham a few weeks ago. I walked up to the post office feeling proud to be part of the wonderful Stampin’ Up! family. The OnStage event was fabulous and we were able to see recorded footage of Shelli, and her daughter Sara, talking about this community. Hearing them speak was very moving and it must have been very special for those demonstrators who were able to see and hear them in person in Orlando - I’m so pleased that I sent my card to Shelli to let her know that that I am grateful to be a part of this SU! family.

The card to Shelli was overtly floral and ultra feminine and was perfect, I hope, for her.  The theme for this hop is "Thank You" and this time I have made a CUTE card.  The feel of it really couldn't be much more different.

As you can see, I have made an array of cards using a set, from the Kids & Babies section of the Annaul catalogue, called Little Elephant.  These little notes are for my daughter to write out to say thank you for her birthday gifts - she was 16 and was pleased as punch with these cute cards.  Of late, I have neglected the Annual catalogue and I feel pleased that I have rectified that.  Obviously, these cards could also be used as thank yous for baby gifts, especially in the colours I have chosen!

The cards are vibrant and bold and also, they are very quick and easy to make.  The card bases are 6" x 3" and scored at 3", which then fit perfectly into our 3" x 3" envelopes.  I used the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Papers for the background and cut them out using one of the square dies from the  Stitched Shapes framelits.  Have I told you how much I love that set of framelits?!  I love the patterns on these papers - they are bold and striking and perfect for plenty of scenarios.

The Whisper white squares measure 2 1/8" and neatly nestle inside the die cut square.  The elephants are stamped and punched out using the coordinating punch, and then attached to the card with a dimensional to lift it proud of the card base. (The Little Elephant stamps and the coordinating punch can currently be purchased as a bundle saving you 10% on the individual prices.)
