Trees for Sale Christmas card

Hello and welcome to my blog. The weather has been absolutely roasting today. I am hoping that making another Christmas card using a cool colour scheme and thinking about snow will help me to forget the heat for a while!

My inspiration today comes from a Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

The window in front of my crafting table looks out onto my garden and I have a good view of the string of solar powered fairy lights. They hang up all year round, not just at Christmas, and light up as the daylight fades. They were from a budget friendly shop, but I would happily have paid more for them because they make me smile each time they light up. The lights in the Trees for Sale set make me smile too - especially as you can cut them out with the Tree Lot dies that are available for during Sale-A-Bration! More smiling!

My colour scheme evolved as I was creating my card leaving one main colour and the trees. Starry Sky became the star of the show; the background is ombre glimmer paper layered onto matching card and the die cut label comes from the Scalloped Contours set. The trees are stamped using Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen onto Basic White card, which I have also used for the layering rectangle and the fairy lights (one in Starry Sky, the other in Evening Evergreen). The Brick & Mortar band is also Basic White.

For sparkle I've added Iridescent Rhinestones, which work brilliantly over every colour you pair them with, and some Wink of Stella on the fairy lights.

I've had fun creating this card and I'm happy that I've added one more Christmas card to my collection, but alas I am not feeling any cooler!

Customer Thank You cards July 2022 - Kylie's Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop

Hello! I am participating in a blog hop organised by Kylie and Bruno Bertucci as part of their Demonstrator Training Program. We are a group of Demonstrators from around the world who are taking part in training that is helping us to build a successful Stampin' Up!® business and to reach some goals that we have set. So, whether you are a regular visitor or if you have hopped in from another blog, I am delighted to welcome you here to my blog!

Throughout the hop we are sharing ideas and inspiration for Thank You cards to send to our customers during July 2022.  For today's project I wanted to use something from the Awash with Beauty Suite that is featured in the All Star tutorial bundle this month and also something from the Sale-A-Bration offering.

I've used the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper with two Sale-A-Bration items; Hippest Hippos stamps and the coordinating Hippo dies to make my cute you are the best cards. During Sale-A-Bration you can choose a FREE product from the SAB brochure for every £45/£90 you spend from the catalogue.

If you place an order with me during July 2022 you will receive one of these cards as a thank you for your purchase together with one of the Awash with Beauty video tutorial bundles as a gift.

For my cards, I divided a sheet of Thick Basic White into thirds to create three small square card bases, which are topped with an embossed layer of Basic White. I tried the Gingham, Pretty Flowers and the Quatrefoil folders; I think I like the Gingham one the best! To ensure that the hippos stood out on the card I used the reverse, plainer side of Designer Series Paper. It's often overlooked, in favour of the pretty front designs, but the subtle patterns work really well as the background for the fun hippos.

Each piece of DSP is layered onto a slightly larger square of card and wrapped with a piece of the InColor Baker's Twine - the colours aren't an exact match to the Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green that I've used, but they are close enough to work!

The hippos are stamped using Black Memento ink, coloured with Blends; I used Gray Granite, Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral. They are then popped up using dimensionals. The awwwww! you really are the best sentiment fits snugly into a circle die from the Stylish Shapes set - looking back again at my finished cards the words resemble a speech or thought bubble. Totally unintentional, but one of those happy accidents that makes you smile!

Thank you so much for visiting today, I hope you have been inspired! As mentioned at the beginning, this is a blog hop so make sure you hop ar0und to see the other amazing projects on the hop! Click on the links below to visit them.

Christmas in July for the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am taking part in a blog hop with some fellow enthusiasts who love sharing their creative talents using their Stampin' Up!® products.

For this month's Stamping Inkspirations blog hop we have a colour combination to inspire us for a Christmas in July theme, which is perfect timing as we are right at the start of the July to December 2022 Mini Catalogue which is filled with gorgeous projects and inspiration, including plenty of Christmas themed products.

As someone who has a tandancy to leave things to the last minute, I am hoping that this blog hop will start me on my way to a more prepared run up to the busy Christmas period. Fingers crossed! For my very first Christmas card this year I opened up the Trees for Sale set and the coordinating Sale-A-Bration Tree Lot dies - I thought that the suggested colour combination was perfect for them.

The trees are stamped, on Shimmery White card using Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen inks, then die cut. I made a few so that I could mix and match sizes and colour variations to make a grove of them. They're arranges on a Soft Succulent background that I'd embellished with subtle, tone on tone stars, spatters of Wink of Stella and texture from the Timeworn Type embossing folder.

Sahara Sand makes a lovely neutral background which works really well with the Shimmery White used for the trees. The snowflake pattern comes from the Wintry embossing folder pack which has two of the narrower style folders in it. I embossed the top and bottom of the Sahara Sand layer, hiding the join under the decorative panel. The suggested colour combination includes Cherry Cobbler which I think pops well against the greens. A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones add extra sparkle and the sentiment is white heat embossed.

One Christmas card down, many more to go! I think that this design will work in other colour combinations, so watch this space! I hope that you are inspired by my card today and that you will continue along the hop to see what the others have created too. Enjoy the projects. We would love to hear from you and so if you have been inspired, please leave a comment.
