Kylie's Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop April 2020

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am thrilled to be taking part in a blog hop with fellow demonstrators, from around the world, who are part of Kylie Bertucci's training program. There is no theme for the hop, but there is sure to be a wealth of inspiration for creating with Stampin' Up! products.

Through this time of uncertainty I have appreciated my love of crafting more than ever. I can indulge myself and pass the time while I create, take joy in sending greetings to my nearest and dearest or those in need and be inspired by the wealth of demonstrations and techniques available online. Indeed, my list of projects to try has grown quite long!

Sometimes though, sitting crafting just seems frivolous and creative block sets in. This happened to me recently, and after reassuring myself that creating and making does have a purpose and makes a difference, to me and to others, I needed a project to get stuck into. I pulled out my Positive Thoughts stamp set, some inks and began stamping on a sheet of Whisper White.

Once the sheet was filled I chopped it up into two shapes - long thin strips the same height a card front (5cm x 14.8cm or 2" x 5 1/2") and smaller rectangles to layer up in the centre of a card (6.9cm x 10cm or 2 5/8" x 3 7/8").

These little pieces of art were then mounted and transformed into four different cards. The first one is simply framed with Whisper White and I used the crinkle seam binding ribbon to tie a bow around it before mounting it with Dimensionals on to a Coastal Cabana layer embossed with the Coastal Weave folder and a matching card base.

The second card uses a sentiment from the Nature's Thoughts set, which I have used so much lately. The card base and layers are Pear Pizzazz and the white layer has been embossed with the Subtle folder. I use that a lot too!

I have used the Painted Labels dies and the Peaceful Moments stamps to finish of the cards with the long thin panels. I love the embossed edge around the white label.

Instead of meeting up as we usually do for cards, cake and coffee on a Saturday afternoon I encouraged my crafty friends to try these cards using whatever supplies they had on hand - I used Nature's Thoughts but the cards could easily be made using a different stamp set or Designer Series Paper instead. I really missed seeing them in person, but we still managed to create, which is the important thing!

Thank you for visiting my blog today - you are currently visiting Karen Henderson. Please look at the list below to see who to visit next. I am sure you will find lots of inspiration on your journey around the hop. Make sure you don't miss any!
