Blessed to be your friend using To A Wild Rose

Hello and welcome to my blog. The sun is shining and I have a brand new card to share with you. Until this weekend I hadn't used my To A Wild Rose stamps, even though I have had them for a while. Today, I have teamed them up with the colour scheme suggested by the Global Design Project challenge to make my card.

http://www.global-design-project.com/2020/04/global-design-project-237-color.html

The To A Wild Rose stamp set is a two-step DistINKtive one, which means that the shading and definition is all done for you. The stamps are photopolymer so that you can see through them to line them up accurately. I stamped the outline in Night of Navy and the two layers of petals are then both coloured in with Melon Mambo. The larger solid stamp was stamped off first to create a lighter shade and then the detail was added on top using full strength ink. I cut various die cuts to layer on and around the flower. I particularly like the leaves cut from Silver Glimmer paper!

The layer of Night of Navy has been embossed with the Pinewood Planks folder and I like the way that the lines from the planks contrast well with the angular layers of Melon Mambo and Mint Macaron. The sentiment was built up in stages. Blessed is stamped in Night of Navy and fussy cut and the To Be Your Friend is heat embossed in silver (don't forget to use the embossing buddy!). The finishing touches were to add a Mint Macaron bow and a bit more sparkle with Basic Rhinestones and a Clear Faceted Gem for the centre of the flower.

I have several other sets of stamps that have yet to see ink and I'm going to be kept busy trying to rectify that! Thank you for visiting today!
