Painted Poppies

Hello and welcome to my blog. During this period of uncertainty in the world I am finding that even though I have established a new/diffierent routine that keeping track of the days of the week is tricky. There is plenty of time to reflect and be grateful and finding moments to be creative really helps me.

There is a Thank You theme for Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Hightlights this month, and I am sure we all have a lot of people that we want to show our gratitiude and say that phrase to.

Now the fun bit about this Highlight is that there is an inspirational gallery of projects, all with a Thank You theme, that you can visit and vote for your favourite five projects. At the end of the voting the Top Ten Winners will be invited to take part in an International Blog Hop at the end of April. I would love to be able to take part in the hop, so I would really appreciate your help. Please will you vote for my card in the gallery?

I have combined the serene images from the Painted Poppies stamp set and some therapeutic coloring with my Blends. The flower images are stamped randomly using Memento ink on to Whisper White card and then, for a change, the background white space was coloured leaving the stamped images white. I think that this makes the flowers really stand out and pop.

There is no denying that one of my favourite tools is the Subtle embossing folder, and I've used it again here to add texture to my coordinating layer. It simply adds a subtle something extra to a card.

The Whisper White crinkled seam binding ribbon is an adaptable little reel of ribbon - perfect straight from the roll, but and it is quite a big BUT, it can also be altered to suit your project.

Simply swipe over the ribbon with one of the Blends and the ribbon soaks up the ink and transforms itself into coloured seam binding. I deliberately used the Light Bermuda Bay Blend to colour the ribbon for my Pool Party coloured card so that it was a darker shade and added a little oomph! Bows are easy to tie, whether the ribbon is coloured or not.

The Label Me Bold stamps set has a variety of accents and words. When the words are stamped the letters take their colour from the card you are stamping on whilst the background takes its colour from the ink you use. I used black ink on white card for the Thank You.

Thank you for visiting my blog today - I hope that you will make a card and send a card too. Remember to pop over to the gallery for more inspiration, and I would be really grateful if you would vote for my card while you are there too.
