Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - A Theme Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am taking part in a blog hop with some fellow enthusiasts who love sharing their creative talents using their Stampin' Up!® products. There is a theme challenge for the Stamping Inkspirations blog hop this month. We are creating projects to celebrate the Sounds of the Season.

My crafting of late has been mainly been monochromatic using shades of green on a white background. Today, I am only using white and Evening Evergreen for my design. I have no particular tune in mind for my inspiration, but there are definitely musical influences on my card.

I started by adding texture to some Basic White card by using the Merry Melody 3-d embossing folder - it seemed like a very good place to start for a sounds of the season card!

Next, I used the falala stamp from the Framed & Festive set and stamped it diagonally across a smaller square of Basic White card using Versamark ink and then heat embossed the pattern in white. The raised and shiny words are subtle, yet effective in transforming a plain piece of Basic White into a fabulous background.

So, now I have two different background pieces, each with a nod to the musical theme.  To separate the heat embossed layer from the textured one I mounted it on to a slightly bigger layer of Evening Evergreen card and wrapped it with a matching piece of ribbon. The bow is tied separately and adhered using a glue dot. I decided to use the have yourself a merry little Christmas sentiment as my focal point for the card. It has been heat embossed in white on a square of Evening Evergreen card cropped out using the Stylish Shapes dies.

While I had these bits and pieces on my desk, I made a few more cards with the same sort of theme.
There might only be two colours (apart from the holly berries!), but there is plenty of texture on these fresh looking cards to make them interesting to the eye.

I hope that you are inspired by my cards today and that you will continue along the hop to see what the others have created too. Enjoy the projects. We would love to hear from you and so if you have been inspired, please leave a comment.

To give you even more inspiration each of us has created another project using the Hues of Happiness Suite of products. Here is my project for today.

I love to make fun fold cards and I found inspiration by scrolling through my Pinterest board for 3-d cards. I spotted a tri-fold shutter card, which I've never made before. After some more searching for a template and some planning with a pencil and a ruler I came up with the measurements for this card. The card folds up flat and fits in to a standard sized envelope.

I have showcased the Designer Series Papers on my card featuring the designs on the  alternative side of them. With an abundance of sections, this fancy fold would also lend itself to a design featuring different textures or multiple sentiments.

Although it looks quite complicated, once all the score lines were in place it was straightforward to make. The tricky bit was to decide how to arrange the papers!

I've used one of the long thin dies to create a faux stitched edge for the middle section and emphasised this effect with a white Bakers Twine bow. The sentiment is white heat embossed on Melon Mambo card to make it pop against the Night of Navy background and the flowers are also white heat embossed. I hope you like all the little details - let me know what you think in the comments below. Quiet Meadow Thank You card for Kylie's International Project Highlights - December 2022

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights for December 2022 - the theme is Thank you. If anyone ever asks me what my favourite colour is I always say either blue or purple. However, recently I have made a few cards using shades of green and I've really enjoyed using them. So, today I picked out a stamp set that I hadn't inked up for a while and a selection of greens and set to work to make this thank you card.

Of late, the weather in the UK has been dull and dreary and a bit cold. Using my Quiet Meadow stamps has lightened my mood - and I'm now thinking of brighter, sunnier days bursting with flowers.

The starting point for my card was a panel of Basic White card that I stamped with a floral spray using Old Olive ink. Next, I added the scripty detail and the single flowers using Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped off onto scrap paper before adding the image to the panel to create a lighter impression. Also, I literally stamped off the edge of the panel to only add parts of the flower and script to create width. I added a haze around the flower heads using the splatter stamp and Soft Sea Foam ink and scattered some tiny single flowers in Soft Succulent.

To add some depth and texture I ran the stamped panel through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine with the Timeworn Type embossing folder, added some die cut foliage and a trio of Festive Pearls in Soft Succulent. I added the Thank You sentiment, from the Nature's Harvest set, to a die cut banner secured with linen thread.
I've also added a double bow using linen thread - no bouquet should be complete without a bow! The narrow Old Olive frame completes the panel before mounting it onto a top folding Thick Basic White card base. This card reminds me of sepia photos in ancient albums; only in green! I hope you like it too.

As mentioned at the beginning I am entering Kylie's International Project Highlights and you can follow the link to the gallery where you will find heaps more inspiration AND you can vote for your favourite five projects. At the end of the voting the Top Ten winners will be invited to take part in a blog hop at the end of the month.

I would love to take part in the hop, so I would really appreciate your help. Please would you visit the gallery and vote for my card?
