Happiness Surrounds and builds a pattern

Welcome back on this Wednesday morning.  I have another gorgeous card made with the Happiness Surrounds stamps.

The pattern on the front makes me feel quite nostalgic and takes me back to when I was very young.  My Grandparents came to visit us for the weekend on quite a regular basis.  I can remember eagerly awaiting their arrival and wondering if we would be lucky enough to recieve a treat.  The answer was usually YES!  I was crafting from an early age and, more often than not the treat was a felt-tipped pen.  Not a whole set, a single pen.  Over time, we built up a large collection and one of the things we did to pass the time was pattern building.  The first person made a dot or flower in the centre of the page and the next person chose a different colour and drew a different symbol or mark around the first.  Gradually, the page was filled and we had a pretty pattern.  Not much has changed because I'm still happy with paper and ink and making pretty patterns.

I used three of the nesting stamps from the stamp set to create the central image.  They are really easy to line up because they are photopolymer.  I've used my favourite Stitched Shapes and Layering circle dies to cut out the shape.  The layered circles sit on top of a Balmy Blue square embossed with the Subtle folder and a slightly bigger Gorgeous Grape square.  The edge of the Balmy Blue tent card is decorated by repeatedly stamping the geometric border.

The sentiment comes from Itty Bitty Greetings and the finishing touches are some Gorgeous Grape ribbon and a Glitter Enamel dot.

I really enjoyed making this pretty card whilst taking my trip down memory lane.  If you need any supplies please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop.  You can follow the link or click on the pictures below of the products I have used today.  Remember that the Happiness Surrounds stamps are only available until 30th November (or while supplies last).
