Nature's Sweetness for Global Design Project CASE Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. My card was inspired by this week's Global Design Project's CASE challenge. To CASE a project is to Copy And Selectively Edit the original to create your own new project. Our starting point is this beautiful card by Cindy Timmers.

The features that I have chosen to copy are the trio of circles, the narrow sentiment strip and the decorative foliage. I wanted to use the Nature's Sweetness Suite and decided to use a neutral pallette.

To create my focal points I masked out the words on the vanilla plant image before stamping it on to Basic White card using Pecan Pie ink then used a circle die from the Stylish Shapes set to crop it out. I created three circles this way and in addition I also stamped a fourth image that was die cut using the coordinating die from the Lovely and Sweet set. Pecan Pie leaves were die cut using the tall, thin die and the sentiment is stamped onto Crumb Cake card using the Pecan Pie ink.

The base card is Thick Basic White on top of which I added the background - there is a double layer of Pecan Pie card - the decorated layer being marginally smaller. I stamped a selection of images to break up the open space and add interest. Some of them are stamped at full strength, such as the Field Notes, and others are stamped off first in order to create a lighter impression. Next, I embossed the layer with the Exposed Brick folder and distressed one of the corners to separate the layers of paper. Using a Blending Brush I swirled Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie inks around the edges to create a frame.

To assemble the card I wrapped Linen Thread around the layers and staggered the circles. I lined up the die-cut/detailed image behind the lowest of the circles allowing the vanilla pods to extend beyond the stitched detail on the circles. I snipped apart some of the Pecan Pie die cut leaves and tucked them behind the flower circles before added a loosely tied Linen Thread bow behind the sentiment strip. Theer's also a trio of Iridescent Pearls and the merest hint of shimmer on the flowers using Wink of Stella.

I love the way this has turned out - I think it's a fantastic layout for a card, and I'll definately being using it as a starting point again! Do you need any of the products  used on today's card? Customer Thank You cards for January 2024

Hello and welcome to my blog! Thank you for joining me for the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Training Program Monthly Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world, sharing our card creations based on the theme of Thank You or Congrats for this month.

I am delighted to welcome you here whether you are a regular visitor or if you have hopped in from another blog. You will find the blog hop list at the bottom of this post so that you can see all of the posts today.

If you place an order with me during January 2024 you will receive one of these cards as a thank you for your purchase.

At the weekend I participated in a blog hop where we took inspiration from a sketch. I was so taken with a fellow Demonstrator's card that I have cased her to create my customer Thank You cards; thank you Danielle Kassing for your inspiration. I hope you approve!

The card is a hybrid between two styles. A stack and shuffle card meets a fractured card using narrow strips of card to hide the joins in the paper. I've used the gorgeous Nature's Sweetness Designer Series Paper and I cannot decide which are the A-sides and which are the reverse sides. I like them all!

I chose four sheets of DSP and cut a square from each of them for my card fronts, then (with all the sheets stacked together) I cut them into four pieces. I shuffled them into four mixed piles, but I couldn't decide whether to feature the A or B side. So, half of them show the A-side and half of them are flipped to feature the B-side!

The Thank You sentiments (Timeless Arrangements or Charming Sentiments) are white heat embossed and raised on Dimensionals. I've added a few die cut elements and some Iridescent Pearls to complete the cards. Which do you prefer, I wonder? The Pebbled Path and White or the Pecan Pie, Gold and White which are mounted onto an Early Espresso base?

Thank you so much for visiting today, I hope you have been inspired! As mentioned at the beginning, this is a blog hop so make sure you hop around to see the other amazing projects on the hop! You can use the links below to visit them.

Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am taking part in a blog hop with some fellow enthusiasts who love sharing their creative talents using their Stampin' Up!® products.

To inspire our creations
for the Stamping Inkspirations blog hop this month we are following a sketch.

As soon as I saw this sketch the tools from the Trusty Tools set sprang to mind. I do not have the stamps or dies yet, but I do have a pack of the Trusty Toolbox Sale-a-bration papers to work with.

I've gone super simple with these cards because the papers speak for themselves. My square cards are the width of a standard sized card so they fit in a standard sized envelope. Next time though I might take advantage of these free papers and make a different size card with a matching envelope!

I used my Snips to fussy cut some of the tools and then layered them up onto the papers that coordinated with them. The sentiment is from the Circle Sayings set. It's really versatile and could equally be used for a celebration or to say thank you for a job well done! The words are white heat embossed and then die cut to form a label using either the Stylish shapes or Nested Essential sets.

It was fun to mix and match these papers together and I'm really pleased with how thay turned out. Simple, yet effective! I hope that you are inspired by my cards today and that you will continue along the hop to see what the others have created too. Enjoy the projects. We would love to hear from you and so if you have been inspired, please leave a comment.
