Saying thank you with Fine Art Floral papers

Hello and welcome to my blog. I celebrated my birthday between Christmas and New Year and I was lavished with some gorgeous, thoughtful gifts and cards. I am sending one of these cards to say Thank You to those wonderfully generous people that I am blessed to have as family and friends.

So how did I make my card? Well, I dipped into some of my new goodies and had a fine old time! I used the Fine Art Floral Suite and the Curvy dies from the
new January to June Mini catalogue which launches on 5th January - how exciting!

The Pretty Peacock card base is topped with a strip of the Fine Art Floral DSP - it's about two thirds of the width of the card and it is adhered leaving a narrow border of the base card showing on the right hand edge. The flowers are so bold and striking, aren't they?

The curved Smoky Slate layer is die cut using the Curvy dies and embossed using the Painted Texture 3D folder. It covers approximately one third of the card front. To emphasise the pierced holes on the curve I layered the Smoky Slate piece over a Pretty Peacock strip, trimming away the excess with my snips, enabling the darker colour to show through.

To assemble the card I adhered a length of ribbon to the patterned paper, then the curved Smoky Slate panel and finally the gold heat embossed, die cut sentiment strip. It's a simple yet effective design that was very easy to produce. Now, I want to write them out and send them on their way.

This card will also be my entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights for January - the theme is Thank You. Please follow the link to the gallery where you will find more inspiration AND you can vote for your favourite five projects. At the end of the voting the Top Ten winners will be invited to take part in a Blog Hop at the end of January.

I would love to take part in the hop, so I would really appreciate your help. Please would you visit the gallery and vote for my card? My card is number 15.
