In Symmetry Thanks for International Project Highlights - November 2021

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights for November 2021 - the theme is Thank you. For this card I have used the In Symmetry stamps with some of the Designer Series Paper from the same suite and plenty of sparkle! I've taken a lead from the name of the stamp set and arranged the elements symmetrically on the card, and although it's simple there is something that really appeals to me. The pattern making possibilities are endless! 

The card base is made from Just Jade card which is a wonderfully rich jewel coloured card to which I have added an embossed layer using the Stitched Greenery die. The panel of navy patterened paper sits in the centre of the card, layered onto a slightly larger piece of Night of Navy card. Repeating the slim borders throughout the design adds to the symmetry.

The flowers are stamped on squares of Basic White card that have been embossed with the smallest of the Stitched with Whimsy dies and layered onto more Just Jade card - the Flirty Flamingo centres are fussy cut and adorned with Basic Rhinestones. To add to the sparkle there are more rhinestones sprinkled on to the background and a pretty bow tied in the Glittered Organdy Ribbon - when they catch the light they twinkle! I have only used part of the thanks so much sentiment and to ensure that it pops, the thanks is mounted on to Night of Navy card so it was double fussy cut! I think the effort was worth it though.

All Star Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop - Sweet Symmetry Suite - November 2021

To give you even more inspiration using this suite, each of us has created another project with the Sweet Symmetry Suite products. Here is my project for today. 

I love making patterns! To me, there is something quite therapeutic in repeating a pattern or process! These patterns take me back to family holidays sitting with my grandmother. She helped me build a collection of felt tipped pens and would often bring me a new colour when she visited - the collection grew slowly a single pen at a time! We'd take a plain piece of paper and take it in turns to build up a pattern using different colours and shapes - so I've been crafting and collecting for a very long time!

To help me with the positioning and repetition I used my Stamparatus. The colours I have used are Night of Navy, Flirty Flamingo and Just Jade for both the stamping and the cardstock layers. The patterns are embellished with silver metallic pearls and concentric circles of card (cut using the Gingerbread dies). 

I like to have a pile of cards that are ready to send and suitable for any occasion so I decided to leave the front of the card sentiment free. Later, I can easily add one of the sentiments from the set to the inside of the card!

Words of Cheer for Ink & Inspiration Tool Time Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am delighted to be taking part in the Ink and Inspiration blog hop for October. The theme this month is Tool Time - they are the unsung heroes in our crafting. There are several tools that I use each and every time I create a project - Paper Snips, Trimmer - and I wouldn't be without them. Others that get used equally frequently are my Cut & Emboss machine, Heat Tool and Stamparatus. They'll all get a work out to make today's card.

I have chosen to use the Words of Cheer set from the Mini Catalogue to make my card today. This card incorporates many of my favourite elements; layers and heat embossing. The die cut frame is the largest die from the Scalloped Contour set which makes a fabulous layering piece. I positioned the stamp on my Stamparatus so that I can stamp the same design again and again. I have plans to make a large batch of these cards in a different colourway! 

The sentiment is gold heat embossed, and the ends of the strip are shaped using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. I love the way the gold powder melts and morphs into its raised, shiny state. Heat embossing is magical. Every single time!

I added a few die cut flowers adorned with some gold foil foliage and a champagne rhinestone. The stamped images are also topped with champagne rhinestones, but they were altered using the dark Cherry Cobbler Blend. It really makes them pop!
