I'm really pleased with this card even though it is nothing like the card I had planned in my head! The Global Design Project challenge this week is a sketch challenge. I have mulled ideas over in my head since Monday, but when I came to sit down to make my card the ideas didn't seem to work. Slightly frustrating, but then I had a light bulb moment and the card I'm sharing today came together really quickly. Phew!
I'm pleased that the card features the Designer Series Paper - I often hoard paper because it is too special to use, but I've decided that it is much better to use the paper to make a special card and to send it to someone special. I love these papers because the colours are vibrant and the patterns are such fun. The mantra of the sentiment fits perfectly!
The card is suitable to send to anyone and could be used for those ellusive, difficult to make for masculine cards. What do you think? There are times when it's tricky to decide on a gift too, so this card has a sneaky pocket on the inside which is just the right size for a gift card!
Sadly, some of these products are not going to be in the next Annual Catalogue but that means there are some bargins available, only while stocks last.

I've made some fun Easter cards using the super cute Basket Bunch stamps and dies. As soon as I saw this bundle, I knew I was going to buy it. My youngest daughter has always loved rabbits... real ones, furry cuddly ones and, yes, she loves these ones as well.
I've used shimmery white card to stamp on, which is more forgiving to watercolour on than the ordinary Whisper White, and I adore the gentle shimmer you get from it. The images are coloured using the watercolour pencils and an aqua painter.
The edges of the card were a little bare, so before I assembled the layers together I added a hint of colour using the grass stamp. I think it makes a good alternative to sponging!
I've seen several versions of this basket on Pinterest, and I knew I needed to make some to give out at my recent card making class. Adorable, even though I do say it myself!

There has been a colour challenge happening on the Global Design Project this week and I have just enough time to enter my project. It's a colour challenge this week and the selection is Night of Navy, Whisper White and a free choice.
Well, that sounds easy enough doesn't it? However, Night of Navy and Whisper White are such a classic combination I found it hard to choose which colour to add for my choice. I quickly decided that I was going to use the Floral Boutique Suite, but I needed to think long and hard about what I actually wanted to make this time.
Finally, I decided that it was going to be something for me and that it was going to be a shadow box. Melon Mambo popped into my head! Luckily, I had some Baker's Twine in the right colour, but it was too chunky! It separated easily and the thinner strand tied a more dainty, shabby chic bow to go around the distressed K!
I'm
confident that there are lots of other colours that would work equally
as well as Melon Mambo...perfect as gifts for friends...projects for

Last week was a bit busy. Actually, it was super busy and verged on manic at times. It was busy in a good way, but now I feel like I'm playing catch up! The main event of the week was my eldest two children turning 16. I love birthday celebrations. Buying and wrapping presents, making cakes and of course making the birthday cards!
So, last week flew by and I didn't share anything here or contribute to the Global Design Project. A new week a new challenge over at the Global Design Project. And what a challenge it is this week. It is a theme challenge and the theme is Amusement Park. By a very happy coincidence the card that I made for my daughter fits the bill perfectly, and she is happy for me to share it here.
The idea for the card started as a little seed when I first used the Cupcakes and Carousels papers at a team training event in January. The little idea blossomed and grew in my head, and I did some planning on paper. Finally I started to make something and, more by luck than judgement, the 3-d card was made.
The canopy moves up and down to allow the side sections to either lie flat on the table top or upright hiding the carousel of horses. The first time it was opened it caused quite a stir! The horses appear to gallop around the carousel - the illusion is created by using thin strips of window plastic curled into circles to attach them to the central column.
There are pockets on the side sections which, at the moment, hold small cards that I've decorated with coordinating paper and written notes on. They are also a perfect place to keep birthday Instax pictures! The Cupcakes and Carousels papers are gorgeous and I have so enjoyed using them to create this project.
