Have you missed me? One of my favourite card shapes is a z-fold card, so called because when the card pieces are folded they look like a Z! There are lots of possibilities with this card fold, this one is 4" square when it is folded up. I think that the exploding stars lend themselves perfectly to this shape of card.
I have made two, almost identical, cards because I was being indecisive as to which one I preferred. I've just reversed the colour of the bases and layers. The paper on the left hand side provides the gorgeous colour combination. It is from the paper stack called "A Little Foxy" which isn't limited to use with the Foxy Friends stamps!
This card is finished off with a "Celebrate" sentiment fitting for birthdays, anniversaries and more! Which occasion do you send the most cards for?

Hello 2017! I hope that you have enjoyed the festive season and that you have had a wonderful few days with friends and family.
I wanted to say a Happy New Year and share the first of my creations using products from the new Spring Summer catalogue that launches on 4th January. Can you spot the new product?

Today
was the
last day of term at the school where I work. Leading up to the end of
term there have been carol concerts, a visit to the pantomime, play
performances and parties. Lots of fun and excitement. For my Christmas
card to the children I work with I couldn't resist using the cute
Cookie Cutter Christmas stamps again. That gingerbread man has such a
cheeky expression and looks as if mischief is on the cards.
The bold Merry Medly background was stamped directly onto the card to make a dramatic statement.
To go with the cards there were some reindeer treats. Tiny boxes of tictacs disguised as Rudolf. He was stamped with Early Espresso ink and then the antlers were filled in using an aqua painter (the red nose is from some retired pop pom ribbon that was just perfect for noses, but glimmer paper looks good too!). They look quite impressive lined up and ready to go.
Today is also the last day for posting second class stamped post to arrive in time for Christmas. Most of my cards are now posted or hand delivered. Yay! Sending a Christmas message in a hand made card is sending love or a hug in the post. I'm always so pleased when I'm told that my cards are well received and appreciated. It gives me a warm feeling inside and a big smile on my face! I have a small number of cards left to deliver - the last day for posting first class stamped mail is tomorrow (21st December).

Today, I have another entry for the Global Design Project colour challenge. The colours for the challenge fit perfectly with the Christmas Candy Cane Lane papers which I cannot stop using.
A peg wreath has been on my "To Do" list for ages, and now I have made this one I'm wondering why it took me so long to have a go. I have used small pegs and tiny scraps of the Candy Cane Lane papers. I glued the paper to the pegs using Tombow and then clipped the pegs onto a circle of card. To stabalise the wreath I used a hot glue gun to attach another circle of card onto the back of the pegs.
To finish off the wreath I added a simple white bow and the greeting from the Stitched with Cheer stamp set. The hardest thing about this project was deciding which greeting to choose to finish it off! I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and it is now displayed in my sitting room.
The colours for the challenge are Early Espresso, Real Red and Crumb Cake and there is plenty more inspiration on the Global Design Project Blog! What will you create using these colours?

The Global Design Project has a colour challenge this week and for the first time I'm taking the plunge and joining in! The colours for the challenge are Early Espresso, Real Red and Crumb Cake.
The gorgeous Candy Cane Lane papers immediately spring to mind. I love all of the designs, but this little ditzy print has been used the most and I have used my favourite "go to" sketch as the starting point for my card.
My cable knit embossing folder has had plenty of use. After embossing the card looks and feels like knitting, which makes me feel all warm and cozy and ready to follow the instructions given on one of the stamps in the Tin of Tags stamp set and Spread Some Christmas Cheer.
There are just over two weeks to go before Christmas Day, and I'm not quite ready yet. So far this year I have attended two Christams carol concerts and they certainly made me feel festive. Making and sending Christmas cards does that too, as does decorating the tree which we are going to do later on. Then I need to write some lists... menu plans, shopping lists, to do lists. Quite a few lists! Are you someone who writes lists? Are you ready for the festive season?
