Hooray. Its Your Day!

Birthdays are a time to celebrate and party.  There are lots of ways to celebrate - I'm sure you all have your own family traditions when it comes to celebrating.  More often than not we go out for a meal and take our presents with us to open while we are waiting for the food to arrive.  There are always cards involved!
Today's card is another shaker card, which is adorned with numbers, and filled with sequins.. Shaker cards are such fun to make and give away.
The Calypso Coral numbers really pop against the Island Indigo background, as does the "Its Your Day" against the "Hooray" - how else would you want to tell someone you were thinking about them on their birthday?
Your birthday is your day...and you should enjoy it!

Fancy Frost Birthday

The Autumn Winter catalogue is filled to the brim with stunning seasonal stamps, papers and embellishments.  Who says that you have to use them for seasonal projects?  Today's birthday card uses seasonal products for a pretty sparkly birthday card.
The Fancy Frost Specialty papers are white-on-white textured papers that can be inked to highlight the pattern or left uninked as I have done.  They are pretty just as thay are!  The pack contains six different designs, and there are two of each, some of which are Christmassy and some that can be used for other occasions aswell.

The parcels come from the Cozy Critters Hostess set in the Autumn Winter catalogue - everyone loves a pile of presents on their bithday, don't they?  Of course, with a colour change and a different greeting, they could be parcels wrapped and stacked under the Christmas tree!

Thank you for popping in today - happy crafting

Teeny Tiny Christmas Wishes

I'm in a Christmassy mood this afternoon. I am gathering my supplies ready for a card class tomorrow afternoon, and we'll be making Christmas cards!

I am a huge fan of the Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! and I'm not afraid of letting it take the starring role.  Sometimes, less is more.  The base is one of the Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake notecards, which is topped with an Early Espresso layer. The paper and the washi tape are finished with a simple "Merry Christmas" from the hugely versatile Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set.

The card is clean and simple in looks and very easy to put together.  Now I'm thinking about my other packs of paper...I need to go and make some more!  Thank you for visiting today

A Teenage Number of Years...

Today I'm sharing some of the cards my eldest two children have sent to their friends for their birthdays.  Guess how old they are?!
Our children aren't 16 until March, but some of their friends have birthdays that are early in the academic year.  This card is super fun to make and easily adapts to whoever it is going to, simply by changing the colours and numbers.
It is a shaker style card and there are foam adhesive strips specially designed to create the space between the layers so that the confetti can move about. The confetti is a mixture of sequins and punched shapes which fit into the void behind the numbers.
Origianally, I bought the Number of Years stamp set with a special anniversary in mind.  I'm so glad that I bought it, because I have used it for so much more.
