Hand-Penned Thanks - International Project Highlights for June 2021

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights for June 2021 - the theme is Thank you. It's always a pleasure to send a thank you card, whether it be to show appreciation for a gift or a kind deed. Thank you is such an important little phrase! For my card today I am sharing a fun, z-fold card that features the fabulous new InColors and the Hand-Penned Petals stamps and coordinating dies.

It might look complicated, but this type of card is easy to make. This fun fold card begins as a humble landscape card then, with an extra fold and the addition of a couple of extra layers, it emerges as something quite different.

The card base is made from Soft Succulent. The card front is folded back on itself and decorated with a layer of Basic White which has been embossed using the dotty pattern from the Checks & Dots embossing folder pack.

The new Scalloped Contour dies are one of my favourites from the new catalogue and I have used them so much already. I couldn't help myself from reaching for them again for this card - I think that the largest one works perfectly as decoration for the back, don't you?

To take this from the average landscape card to a fun, z-fold card all that is needed is to add another layer to the top flap - I chose to add a square, but alternatively you could have a completely nested look by adding another rectangle. I've used the other embossing folder from the set to get the checked pattern on the Basic White layer which then sits on the Soft Succulent square.

The outline of the flowers is stamped using Evening Evergreen ink and then the colour is filled in using the solid stamps from the set and all the other InColors. After die cutting, the spray of flowers is popped up on dimensionals, decorated with a few die cut leaves and some of the sparkly genial gems. I also added a tag of folded ribbon as an extra detail to the side of the square. I hope you like the overall effect.
