Hello
and welcome to my blog. I am thrilled to be taking part in a blog hop
with fellow demonstrators, from around the world, who are part of Kylie
Bertucci's training program. There is no theme for the hop, but there is
sure to be a wealth of inspiration for creating with Stampin' Up!
products.
My cards today aren't quite one layer cards, but they are very flat and perfect for posting. They have a layered look created with the help of masking to ink the background.
Masking is a fabulous technique. On these cards I have used scrap paper to mask the background. While the scrap paper was in place I used a sponge brayer to apply Coastal Cabana ink on the Whisper White card. Then, once the scrap paper is removed there is a coloured strip, with crisp edges, through the centre of the card layer.
Extra detail was added by applying Coastal Cabana ink through the dotty Basic Pattern Decorative Mask using a Sponge Dauber. The dots show up on the background even though I used the same colour. It's another layer of colour that gives depth and extra texture. I've stamped more dots to define the edges of the coloured strip and this time I used Bermuda Bay ink.
The Tasteful Label dies have a variety of nesting shapes and a variety of edges. There are stitched edges, embossed ones and some scalloped ones. All very pretty and perfect for sentiments and layering up together. I applied adhesive sheet to my Night of Navy card before die cutting the bold letters from the Pattern Play set to make it quick and easy to adhere them to the card...I want to try using the new foam adhesive sheets for raised letters too!
To complete the cards, I pulled out the very versatile Itty Bitty Birthday's stamp set. The white layers have a clean and fresh feel to them which was continued through to the colour choices for the additional layer and base card. Fun, simple cards ready to post!
