Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, I am thrilled to be participating in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights for July. It's all about showing gratitude and saying Thank You. Over the last few months the importance of the simple things in life has been highlighted massively.
The fun bit about this Highlight is that there is an inspirational gallery of projects, all with the theme of gratitude and thank you, that you can visit and vote for your favourite five projects. At the end of the voting the Top Ten Winners will be invited to take part in an International Blog Hop at the end of the month. I would love to be able to take part in the hop, so I would really appreciate your help. Please would you visit the gallery and vote for my card?
I have made a couple of cards using the Forever Fern Bundle of stamps and coordinating dies. They are part of the Forever Greenery Suite which also has two types of gorgeous papers; designer series patterned paper and gold laser-cut specialty paper as well as embossing folders and more! The stamps are distinktive and so they have amazing detail built into the design.
All the shading is done for you! I had a happy session stamping in a variety of colours, sometimes stamping twice without reinking the stamp for even more, lighter, shades. Using the coordinating dies I cut out the stamped leaves and I also die cut some foliage from plain cardstock. The palette of colours I used was Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight, Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Highland Heather and Coastal Cabana.
To begin, I stamped a random halo of third generation Pool Party splatters on a layer of Whisper White card. It's very subtle, but adds just enough to break up the background. Next, I built up an arrangement of stems until it resembled a bouquet - there is a mixture of solid card and stamped leaves. It's quite addictive so I couldn't stop at just one, hence the two cards! No bouquet is complete without a hand-tied bow so I added a dainty Night of Navy one!
The Thank You sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set - I love the way the words look as if they have been penned with a flourish using a quill and ink! Really, I just used the Night of Navy inkpad. A few silver metallic pearls finish it off ready to be mounted onto a skinny coloured layer and the base card.
Thank you for visiting my blog today - will you send a card to say Thank You to someone who has helped or inspired you? Remember to pop over to the gallery for more inspiration, and I'd be really grateful if you would vote for my card while you are there too.
