Artfully Layered Thanks

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights for February 2022 - the theme is Thank you. This is a cheer you up sort of card - the colours are so fresh and it was a joy to make! So much so that I made lots of very similar ones for a team swap.

The card is quite simple but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Layering DSP and dies cuts together is a classic card making technique - I've used the Stitched Rectangles and the Layering Contours (which are some of my favourite dies) along with the new Tropical Layers dies.

The Basic White card layer nests neatly inside the scalloped layer and has been embossed using the Wintry 3-d Embossing Folder. I was surprised how much the texture of the leaves in the embossing folder resemble some of the leaves on the patterned paper. So, even though leaves in this suite are by any means wintry, quite the opposite in fact, they complement each other well. And, I do like the added texture!

The leaves and sentiment are both stamped in Evening Evergreen ink and then the finishing touches include enhanching the leaf detail with a swoosh of Wink of Stella, a Linen Thread bow and some of my favourite gold Metallic Pearls. Popping the decorated panel up on Dimensionals completes my leafy thank you card perfectly.

As mentioned at the beginning I am entering Kylie's International Project Highlights and you can follow the link to the gallery where you will find heaps more inspiration AND you can vote for your favourite five projects.
