Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am taking part in a blog hop with some fellow enthusiasts who love sharing their creative talents using their Stampin' Up!® products.
This month the Stamping Inkspirations blog hop has a different twist - our challenge is to work with a sketch.
I chose to use the In The Moment stamps for my project today as I thought it lent itself really well to the sketch we are working with. I have had this stamp set for quite a while, but until now I haven't created a thing with it. Now I have started, I don't know what took me so long and I feel on a roll with it.
The In The Moment stamp set includes some fabulous sentiments, but I needed a birthday card so I added a simple slender sentiment form the Timeless Tulips set.
Pretty Designer Series Paper from the Heart & Home set covers all of the Basic Black card front bar the portion that is exposed by the scalloped border. It was easy to create the border using the border die from the Scalloped Contours set.
The focal image was stamped, using Black Memento ink, onto a square of Basic White card and also on to a sticky note to create a mask. Masking the focal image allowed me to colour the sky using a Blending Brush with Balmy Blue ink. Using a light touch with a small circular motion creates a subtle bloom around the image. Removing the mask reveals the Balmy Blue sky in the background and then all that was left for me to do was to colour the image with Stampin' Blends.
To finish the card I wrapped some Black Bakers Twine around the DSP layer, tied a floppy bow and added a few enamel dots to complement the slim birthday sentiment. It was really helpful to work with a sketch to make this card - it was a bit like following a recipe which is accompanied by a delicious looking photo - I knew where I was going with it!
I hope that you are inspired by my card today and that you will continue along the hop to see what the others have created too. Enjoy the projects. We would love to hear from you and so if you have been inspired, please leave a comment.
