Thanks a bunch

Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope that the sunflowers on my card will bring sunshine into your day and I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that we will eventually have some as pretty as this in our garden. Several weeks ago, my husband was sent a packet of sunflower seeds by his employer. Thank you for the seeds! The seeds were planted and half of them germinated. The seven seedlings have been lovingly nurtured, first in the conservatory and then in the cold frame, until yesterday when they were liberated into the a sunny spot in the border. Actually, they were liberated from our free range rabbit before she devoured them as a tasty treat!

Today I am participating in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlight for June 2020 and it's all about saying Thank You.

Now the fun bit about this Highlight is that there is an inspirational gallery of projects, all with a Thank You theme, that you can visit and vote for your favourite five projects. At the end of the voting the Top Ten Winners will be invited to take part in an International Blog Hop at the end of the month. I would love to be able to take part in the hop, so I would really appreciate your help. Please will you vote for my card in the gallery?

How did I make my card? To start, I stamped using Versamark, heat embossed in gold and die cut a trio of the smaller sunflowers from the set. I worked with Shimmery White card because I wanted to watercolour the images - I used my ink pads and transferred some of the ink onto an acrylic block and picked the colour up with a brush. The gold embossing resisits the liquid so it is easy to stay within the lines! The colours I used were Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede and Early Espresso for a bright traditional look.

With the focal elements completed I moved on to the background. I embossed a piece of Mossy Meadow card with the Pinewood Planks folder and cut it into narrow planks which were arranged around the edge of a layer of Crumb Cake card embossed with the Brick & Mortar folder. The planks make a great frame!

The layered banner for the sentiment is punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch in Gold Foil and Early Espresso. The gold heat embossed words look so shiny on the Early Espresso card! To finish off I've added in several die cut leaves and a twist of metallic trim.

Thank you for visiting my blog today - I hope you will make a card and send a card too. Remember to pop over to the gallery for more inspiration, and I would be really grateful if you would vote for my card while you are there too.

I really like the way you used two different embossing folder designs on your card. I have purchased the sunflower bundle but I've not had a chance to play with it yet. Thank you for sharing your card.
