You are simply wonderful

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am playing along with The Paper Players sketch challenge, with this as the starting point for my card.

http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2019/07/pp452-sketch-challenge-from-anne-marie.html

My immediate thought when I saw the sketch was that I needed to include Stitched Rectangles and Stitched Nested Labels within the design. I am having so much fun with the Bloom & Grow bundle lately that I wanted to use that too. After a little experimenting I came up with this design. I hope you like it.

This stamp set reminds me of an English Cottage Garden filled with romance and scented blooms. These flowers remind me of roses and anemones, and the colour scheme reflects that. I used Blends to colour with, using Rococco Rose and Balmy Blue for the petals and Old Olive and Wink of Stella for the foliage. After colouring the flowers I added some Wink of Stella sparkle to them too.

The base card is Rococco Rose and is decorated with tone on tone stamping to create a border around the neutral Sahara Sand layer. I used one of the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut this layer and stamped the sentiment in Memento black ink, before embossing it with the Subtle folder to add a little texture. Sending a card with these words on is sure to make someone feel very special.

The coloured flowers sit on top of a Balmy Blue Nested Label. I love how the stitched edges look. I think that wrapping the Scalloped Lace trim around the edge of the card adds to the vintage, romantic feel as does the addition of the Faceted dots. They come in all the new 2019-2020 In Colours, of which Rococco Rose is one. They add coordinated sparkle which makes me happy!
