Everything Amazing

Hello and welcome to my blog. On Thursday the A Level results are published so I am burning the midnight oil writing and crafting trying to keep myself busy rather than think about them. My eldest two children are waiting to find out their results so there is a certain level of nervousness in the house tonight.

The Paper Players challenge this week gave me a perfect distraction! Jaydee has set a colour challenge to use Black, White and another colour.

I have been known to be indecisive, and to produce a couple of cards instead of one because I couldn't decide which colours or layouts I liked best. For the twins, I need a girly card and a masculine version, so this time I set out with the intention of making two cards the same, but different - you know what I mean don't you?

There is nothing fancy about these cards because the most important thing about them is the sentiment and what is written on the inside. I wanted to used the Everything Amazing stamp set because whatever the results are tomorrow I am sure that they are both going to do amazing things. I decided to use the 2019-2020 In Colours as my extra choice alongside black and white - Rococo Rose and Pretty Peacock (I know that is two colours, but I am making two cards!).

Firstly, I cut out the largest hexagon shape from the Stitched Nested Labels and stamped the Amazing using Versamark ink, covered it with clear embossing powder and then heat set it. This gives a raised, shiny tone on tone image. Using black ink I added 'you will do' and 'things' into the spaces above and below the embossed image.

The label sits on top of a layer of gingham paper from the In Colour paper stack, a layer of card stock and is decorated with matching faceted dots. The white elements I have used are flax ribbon and the base card.

Crafting is often referred to a therapy, and making these cards has definitely been good for me! Keeping my fingers crossed for good news on Thursday. Thank you for joining me today. If you want to purchase the items used for these cards, or any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop.  You can follow the link or click on the pictures below of the products I have used today.

  1. Oh, Karen. How I remember waiting for A Level results! Hope the kiddos received the results they were hoping for. I love the blue and red for each one of them. The gingham reminds me of summer school uniforms! So glad you joined us at the Players this week
