Love is in the air

Welcome to my blog today.  I am sharing a project today to take part in the Paper Players theme challenge: Love is in the air.  It's right up my street and I'm so happy to participate!

February, hearts and Valentine's are all intertwined for me.  Many moons ago my husband and I became engaged on St. Valentine's Day - who says romance is dead? And I love hearts - any time of the year! I'm thoroughly enjoying using the All My Love suite of products for cards for all sorts of reasons, but the today's cards focus on the synergy with Love and Valentines!

I often shy away from making predominantly white cards because I worry that they look too empty, but I'm really happy with this one.  The small coloured hearts add a pop of colour and seem to enhance the white space. I used the colours from the All My Love cardstock pack: Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick (and the multipurpose adhesive sheets to make sticking easy) to cut several of the die cut heart borders. The white heart border fits really neatly onto a 10cm x10cm card front and then some of the holes were filled with coloured hearts.  To finish this simple, stylish card I added a narrow banner stamped with Happy Valentine's Day.

Crumb Cake is one of my favourite colours to create cards with but I haven't used it for a while so I thought I would have a go using the same layout with just a minor change. I wanted the right hand side of the card to be stamped with the words You Make Me Happy and for the Lovely Lipstick words to dominate.  I used my white card as a guide to estimate where to stamp the Lovely Lipstick words so that they sat above the die cut border and then filled in the rest using Crumb Cake ink. Again, the heart shaped holes in the die cut are filled in with small coloured ones.  Super easy, yet making this card made me happy!

Do you prefer the White or the Crumb Cake version?  Either way, I hope that you are inspired to make and send a card today. If you want to purchase the items used for these cards, or any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop.  You can follow the link or click on the pictures below of the products I have used today.
