Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am taking part in a blog hop with some fellow enthusiasts who love sharing their creative talents using their Stampin' Up!® products. This month in the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop we are creating projects with a Christmas in July theme.
We had several prompts with colour combinations to choose from to inspire our creations. I chose this one with a wreath and the colour combination Cloud Cover, Secret Sea, Summer Splash, Strawberry Slush and Darling Duckling.
I was immediately drawn to the wreath in this picture and set to work to create a wreath for my card using the suggested colours. I'm thinking slightly out of the box with my wreath because I created it using the Sunshine Vibes set, which is distinctly summery! We are in the middle of a heat wave in the UK so whilst I am imagining winter walks as the setting for my card, the current weather has other ideas rendering the Sunshine Vibes set quite apt!
The square Sectret Sea card base is topped with a slightly smaller matting layer embossed with the Exposed Brick folder. These are topped with two layers of Cloud Cover card. To create the wreath, firstly as a guide, I drew lightly round a circle die on the smallest Cloud Cover layer. Then I used the stamp that would ordinarily be used for the rays of sunshine to create a wreath shape using Sectret Sea ink. To emphasise the centre I added some Summer Splash die cut leaves, again from the Sunshine Vibes bundle. The leaf srpays are quite long, but I added Adhesive sheet before they were die cut and was able to encourage them to take on a more circular position around my pencil mark.
The gorgeous dove die cut and the sentiment come from a bundle called Peace on Earth which Demonstrators we able to purchase early for a special event. (It will become available to buy later in the year!) The dove's wings are curled and have a swish of Wink of Stella. The sentiment is chopped up into three sections to fit snuggly around the wreath, which is further decorated with Strawberry Slush hearts, Darling Duckling stars plus some InColor Flat Pearls and a Baker's Twine bow.
