Thank you for joining me today for the All Star Design Team Video Class Bundle Blog Hop for August 2025. At the start of each month, each of us creates another project using the featured suite of products to give you even more inspiration. Here is my additional Floral Impressions Suite project.
When I'm choosing flowers to buy, or to create out of paper, I usually gravitate to pinks and purples and there are several sheets of the DSP that would fill that need. However, today I chose to be different! We have been nurturing several sunflowers in the garden and a couple of them are already rewarding us with cheery blooms. Hopefully the rest will follow suit. So for my cards today, I opted to use the sunflower/daisy print for a change from my usual colour scheme.
I have created a fun-fold card utilising the fabulous oval dies to create a decorative flap. The DSP looked equally good on a backdrop of Garden Green or Early Espresso, so I made a version in each colour.
To mimic the flowers on the DSP I used the flower dies to cut a trio of flowers in Crushed Curry, Petal Pink and Very Vanilla (which I don't normally mix with Basic White!). Simply cutting the flowers using the dies adds some detail but I also curled the petals and added some ink blending to the edges and/or the centre of the flowers to add even more texture. Adding Crushed Curry ink to the centre of the Very Vanilla flower gives the illusion of a very pale yellow daisy.
To break up the white space of the background, I opted to add some ink splatters from a marker pen in the same colour as I'd stamped the sentiment. Instead of gems I added some of the teeny tiny die cut flowers to finish off the cards.
I am really pleased with the inside of the card. I used the strip of card cut away from the front panel to act as the hinge to make the ovals operate like a flap. The hinge is covered so that you cannot see it - the back portion is hidden beneath an oval which provides the place to write a message and the top portion is sandwiched between layers of card and DSP.
This suite is perfect whether you are in the mood for stamping or die cutting flowers or both! I am pleased with these cards inspired by my garden and I hope you feel inspired to create somrthing with this suite too. Let me know what you think in the comments below. If you would like more ideas using this suite you can purchase the tutorial bundle (along with previous tutorials) HERE.
