Hello and welcome to my blog. Earlier in the month, I participated in Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights and after the voting had closed I was delighted to find myself in the Top Ten!
Thank you so much to everyone who visited the gallery and voted for my card. If you missed it, you can read all about it here. I am absolutely thrilled to be eligible to take part in this winner's hop.
For my thank you card for today, I have chosen to use some of the same products as before, but the colour combination is different and so the card looks and feels different.
This is how I made it! I teamed up two of the new InColors - Pale Papaya and Fresh Freesia with one of my trusty favourites, Gorgeous Grape, and set about die cutting a selection of bits using the fabulous Pierced Blooms dies. The stitched detail on them is just fantastic. So tactile.
I had so much fun mixing and matching the pieces to make a garden of flowers for my card. The flowers are displayed on a Basic White panel embossed using the Ornate Floral folder, which gives such a lovely backdrop. The overall effect is soft and subtle with a mismatch of flowers. Perfect for the cottage garden feel I was aiming for.
The flowers are pretty all by themselves, but I think that the leaves have made all the difference to this card - they are cut out from Evening Evergreen Shimmer Vellum. It is simply beautiful! All the see through elegance you expect from vellum, with a hint of colour and shimmer. I know I will enjoy using more of this!
The decorated panel nests onto a Fresh Freesia layer, cut with the Scalloped Contours dies which is popped up using dimensionals over a Gorgeous Grape panel. I couldn't resist adding some tone on tone stamping to this layer before adding it to the Pale Papaya card base. I am pleased with how my card turned out; I hope you like it too.
