And on to my project for the hop! I have use the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle. Earlier in the year we planted some sunflower seeds that we received from my husband's employer - they grew into hansome plants! Sadly, they are decidedly on the wane now, but I have so enjoyed looking at them in the garden. They really provided a splash of colour.

In contrast, my card has a more earthy, autumnal feel to it. I have used rich, neutral colours with a pop of gold to show off the sunflower. The back ground layer is embossed with the hammered metal embossing folder because it makes me think of the seed filled centre of the sunflower!

The sunflower itself is stamped on Shimmery White card, gold heat embossed and die cut before being water coloured. I transferred ink from my ink pads on to an acrylic block and picked up the colour with a Water Painter. The gold embossed lines resisit the watercolour for a neat finish.

The LET'S celebrate you sentiment was gold heat embossed on Early Espresso card and fussy cut to deconstruct it into three parts, two of which were used on the card. To finish off the card I added various gold elements: gold metallic trim from the Forever Greenery Trim combo pack, metallic pearls and a die cut gold foil layer. The neutral colours could be quite sombre, but I like lift that the pop of gold gives.

Just like the real sunflowers in the garden, these paper sunflowers have given me so much pleasure throughout the summer. I have loved creating both summery and autumnal flowers with this suite!
