Here's to friendship

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today's card is inspired by the 'Make you smile' theme challenge on The Paper Players blog this week.

http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2020/05/pp489-theme-challenge-from-joanne.html

My friends make me smile. We can share happy times and have fun together, we can also offer support in times of need. I treasure these friendships and the knowledge that they are with me, even when we are apart. So, I'm feeling a little sentimental but not in a sad way. I'm mulling over happy memories and looking forward to a time when we can meet up together again.

Filled with happy thoughts I pulled this card together - the sentiment is just wonderful. The card is simple and rather naive in style, but I quite like it! Essentially, the card was made from scraps left on my desk - remember the rainbow thank you cards? From rainbows I thought of sunshine, rain and the Under My Umbrella bundle!

The rainbow strip forms the ground for the umbrella and wellies. I used some scraps of the Peaceful Poppies DSP to punch the umbrella and fussy cut the boots from. The little flowers are stamped, coloured with Blends and cut out.

The rays of the sunshine come from the High Tide stamp set. They are stamped in Mango Melody ink, some of which are stamped off first to provide the two tone colour. The centre of the sun is part of a Mango Melody circle cut with the Stitched Shapes dies. To complete recipe for the rainbow I needed a few drops of rain - they are stamped in very faint Pacific Point (stamped off three or four times!). As is often the way, the sentiment is the focal point of the card. It's wonderful.

Thank you for popping in today - I'm still smiling and I hope you are too! If you want to purchase the items used for this card, or any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop.  You can follow the link or click on the pictures below of the products I have used today.
