Beautiful Friendship

Hello and welcome to my blog! Over the past few weeks I have not been crafting as much as ususal. I have been preoccupied with moving my craft room from upstairs to a lovely light and airy room downstairs. The move is almost complete, an I'm super happy with how my new room looks (it is so tidy at the moment!), but my creative spark went missing during the move, and it took a while for me to find it again.
I asked my friends where they gleaned inspiration from and amongst the suggestions were looking through my catalogue and browsing Pinterest. In the end, I chose one stamp set and one ink pad and just stamped. It seemed appropriate to pair up the Beautiful Friendship stamps with the pretty Roccoco Rose ink to start the ball rolling. What do you think?

Each of the flowers and leaves stamp with differing levels of intensity which immediately gives depth to the images - I stamped the large roses in the centre of a Whisper White sheet first and then added the softer blossom image afterwards, having first stamped it off onto some scrap paper to lighten the image. I then added flower sprays and leaves to fill in the spaces - some at full strength and others were second generation images.

When I was happy with the picture, I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to crop out the front panel. The width of the large roses fits perfecly! I cut another rectangle from Roccoco Rose card and then embossed that using the Scripty 3D folder. I softened the edges of a Whisper White card base by stamping the blossom stamp with second generation ink all around the sides. Then, I placed the floral layers on top the base.

The sentiment is popped up on dimensionals and a few twists of Rose Metallic thread. The finishing tough is a few splatters from my Wink of Stella pen.

I was so happy with the results that I tried a different colour combination. A different sentiment, silver metallic thread but no embossing this time on the Highland Heather version.

Here are the two cards together.

If you want to purchase the items used for these cards, or any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop.  You can follow the link or click on the pictures below of the products I have used today.
