Inspired by the Incredible Like You Project Kit

Hello and Good Morning!  I hope you have had an enjoyable weekend.  Did you find time to do any crafting?  Perhaps I can tempt you?

I have been itching to get started on the Incredible Like You Project Kit since it arrived.  The kit contains supplies to create 16 gorgeous cards: four each of four different designs.  The card bases are pre-printed and have stunning laser-cut card front overlays that allow the printed pattern to peek through.  There are also a selection of foil, printed and glimmer die-cut accents, bakers twine and printed envelopes included in the kit together with an instruction sheet.  I love that the kit also contains a reusable storage envelope for the cards.

To complete the kit as shown in the instructions, you will also need some liquid glue, a couple of ink pads and the coordinating stamp set: Incredible Like You.  It contains some very pretty floral images and some incredible sentiments.

A kit is a perfect place for a beginner stamper to start.  There are only a few supplies that are needed to complete the cards as Stampin' Up! have done all the hard work and have pulled all the design elements together for you.  Completing these cards is quick and easy: push out the die-cuts, stamp the sentiments and assemble!  The gorgeous designs mean it would also appeal to the seasoned stamper.  How easy would it be to take the kit away whilst travelling ensuring that you get a crafting fix on holiday?

I spent a happy Saturday morning stamping sentiments and assembling cards.  For some of the sentiments I used Grapefruit Grove ink instead of the suggested Lovely Lipstick, but otherwise I just followed the instructions.

While I had my stamps and inks out I experimented a little and created my own version of one of the cards.  The flowers are so beautiful and I was instantly drawn to them.  I created a mask of a flower by stamping it onto a post-it-note and cutting it out.  Then, I stamped the flower on the left hand side of the scene, and by placing the mask over the top of it I could stamp a second flower so that it appears behind the first one on the finished piece.  The flower mask was also used so that the foliage and flower stems could be stamped to appear in the background.

I left a small gap for the sentiment between the top and bottom images.  The words fit snuggly into one of the stitched rectangle die cuts which in turn sits on a strip of Coastal Cabana card that has been finished with the triple banner punch.
