Welcome back to another paper pieced Beautiful You card. This time I have an easel card in bright, cheery colours.The lady with her umbrella is stamped on to Petal Pink card and also on to patterened paper. The patterned dress and umbrella are fussy cut and pieced on to the Petal Pink stamped image, which is then die cut using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes.
The Stitched Rectangle dies are on my list of favourite tools and I couldn't resist making a feature of stitched edge effect. The Mango Melody layers are the same size and create symmetry between the upper an lower layers of the card.
I stamped the sentiment on to a Melon Mambo scrap and die cut it with a rectangle die. Using the same die I cut a hole in the lower Mango Melody layer. There is a lovely double row of stitching because the dies have a row of stitching inside and outside the cutting edge. The Melon Mambo sentiment is raised on Dimensionals so it sits proud of the under layer emphasising the stitching. Additionally, it acts as an anchor for the easel.
Metallic sequins are added to the corners to complete the cheery look. I'm so sad that I neglected the Beautiful You stamps for a while, but I have had so much fun creating this series of cards that I will forgive myself! I am pleased with the way they have turned out.

Hello again and welcome back to my blog. I have another Beautiful You card to share with you today and this time I have gone all blue! Well, there is a bit of green thrown in for good measure too.
I've stayed with the recipe of a z-fold card, with an oval accent feature, and simply changed the colours compared with the one I shared with you last time. It's exactly the same...but different!
The Garden Impressions papers gave rise to the colour choices, and I've used a combination of Night of Navy, Soft Sea Foam, Shaded Spruce and Pacific Point. You can see last times pink version HERE! I wonder which version you prefer?
This close up shows exactly why I love the Stitched Shapes dies and the Subtle embossing folder! They add small details, but add so much to the overall finish of the card. I was enjoying the fussy cutting so much that I made three cards one after the other - just slightly different colour combinations. Here they all are together.

Welcome to my blog on this Bank Holiday Monday. I am happy to be participating in Kylie's International Highlights for May. The theme is Encouragement. Making and sending a card is a fabulous way to tell someone that you are thinking about them, whether it is to say thank you or to wish them a speedy recovery following an illness or Good Luck for an exam or test. Today I am thinking of someone who needs a get well message. Sending a cheery message in a card really can make someone's day.

I made this card with someone in mind who needs a little TLC and I hope that opening this will raise their spirits. I came across a card that I made when I first purchased the Beautiful You stamp set and as I have neglected it recently I decided to give it some attention. You can see the original card HERE.
I've used different papers and different colours, but paper piecing is still the main feature! The images in this set are fabulous and lend themselves to all types of colouring. Also, the sentiments are suitable for a variety of occasions. I can't believe that I have neglected it!
This is a simple z-fold card with a feature oval accent for the paper pieced image. The lady with the umbrella is stamped twice in Melon Mambo ink: firstly on Powder Pink card and then again on the patterned Garden Impressions paper. I used the colours within the paper pack to help me choose the combination for my card. Using my snips I fussy cut out the lady's dress and her umbrella and stuck them to the image on the Powder Pink card. Then, cut it out using the Stitched Shapes dies. Add a Melon Mambo scalloped oval and the oval accent is complete. It's no secret that the Stitched Shapes dies are one of my favourite tools.
I've also used another of my go to tools on the background to this card: the Subtle embossing folder! Perfect for so many finishing touches, and in this case I stamped the little sentiment before embossing. The only additional decoration is a trio of Powder Pink pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan pearl collection. (Note: Powder Pink is one of our retiring In Colours and I will be sad to say goodbye to it and the Artisan Pearls!)
