Thank you for joining me today for the All Star Design Team Video Class Bundle Blog Hop for August 2024. Every month we create an additional project, using the featured suite of products, to share with you in a blog hop to give you even more inspiration. Here is my additional Mediterranean Blooms Suite project.
I am completely smitten with the blue and white patterns of the Designer Series Paper so I have focussed on them for my card today. (The Mediterranean Blooms DSP is included in August's Designer Series Paper sale!) You can see that I have channelled the inner quilter in me. It was very satisfying constructing the symmetrical tiled grid!
Using the Stitched Shapes dies I cut a pile of squares from Night of Navy and Balmy Blue card together with some of the mosaic DSP. After some experimenting, I plumped for a mixture of DSP and Night of Navy squares for this card, trimming down some of the DSP to nestle within the stitched edges of the solid coloured squares. Blue and white is a classic combination, and one of my favourites. Tiling nine elements together created a neat square quilt.
Book bind cards are a great way to create a square focal point but still create a standard shaped card, and an ideal way to mount the tiled square. To decorate the panel further I have wrapped some silver and white sheer ribbon and added some Opal Rounds to the centres of the tiles. The hello sentiment is white heat embossed and cropped out using the Stylish Shapes dies.
There is no denying that the tiled blue and white papers have mesmerized me and I am really enjoying cutting them up and rearranging them! Whether you are the same or if you prefer the fresh, zingy citrus images in this suite I hope you feel inspired to create with it too. Let me know what you think in the comments below. If you would like more ideas using this suite you can purchase the tutorial bundle (along with previous tutorials) HERE.
