Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - Fun Fold Cards

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am taking part in a blog hop with some fellow enthusiasts who love sharing their creative talents using their Stampin' Up!® products. This theme for this month's Stamping Inkspirations blog hop is Fun Fold Cards.

I love making and sending fun fold cards. There are a few designs that I return to regularly and it's amazing how the same basic folds can be transformed just by using different colours and papers.

For my card today, I have made a concertina folding card with stepped layers so that you get a  glimpse of all three layers, even when the card is held closed. Although I have used the Regency Park Suite quite a bit, some of the stamps in the Sentimental Park stamp set were still unloved. I wanted to rectify that today!

The large layer of patterned paper at the back was my starting point - those pale blue flowers are just delightful. To complement this paper I chose Night of Navy and Balmy Blue card stock for the base card and the layers. The front panel is decorated with some of my previously unused images. T
o coordinate with the paper the leaves are stamped in Shaded Spruce and the flowers are in Balmy blue. Some of the stamping is at full strength but some is stamped off first to create a lighter shade. Milky Dots complete the flowers perfectly.

The middle panel looked a little busy decorated with patterned paper so I opted for an embossed layer of Night of Navy card. I used the wonderfully textured Cane Weave folder. The Night of Navy Bordered ribbon tied with a bow adds the finishing touch.

On the reverse of this panel is a Basic White layer, decorated with a few flowers stamped in Balmy Blue, providing the space for you to write a personal message.

The card is an easy one to construct and I made a template to store in my folder of Fancy Fold ideas!

I hope that you are inspired by my card today and that you will continue along the hop to see what the others have created too.
Although I have a few favourite fun folds that I turn to I am always on the look out for new ideas or tweaks to a classic. Enjoy the projects. We would love to hear from you and so if you have been inspired, please leave a comment.

  3. Is it possible to put your template in inches...have made concertina cars before but not with stepped layers.....guessing it is one color cut for base with cuts and scores. Thanks for any help with this....

    1. Hi Fran - you will need a base card measuring 9 3/4" x 5 1/2", score ar 4 1/4" and 7 1/2". The cuts are at 4 1/2" and 3 1/2" - the middle panel is 1" shorter then the back, and the front panel is 2" shorter than the back. Then you add matting layers and DSP. Hope that helps.
