Hello and welcome to my blog! I am so excited to be taking part in today's Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop. We are a group of enthusiasts who love sharing their creative talents using Stampin' Up!® products. This month the Stamping Inkspirations blog hop has a theme. We are following a Sketch and we are also challenged to use some Glimmer and Shine!
The Sketch we are using for inspiration looks like this.
I am using products from the new January to April Mini Catalogue to create my project with - there is nothing like jumping into a shiny, new catalogue! My love of all things heart-shaped made my choice of what to use first quite an easy one. I am using the products from the Country Floral Lane Suite and I have chosen to use the Country Bouquet Bundle, comprising of a stamp set and a coordinating punch, together with the 12" x 12" Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper.
One of the sheets of DSP has conveniently got a subtle, all over diamond pattern on it which I felt destined to utilise! Using a craft knife for accuracy, I cut out a large diamond shaped aperture from the Balmy Blue patterned paper and adhered it onto a layer of Basic White. I wrapped a length of the White Glittered Organdy ribbon around the layers before adhering them onto a Balmy Blue card base.
I cut a smaller diamond shape from Balmy Blue card and added texture with the Timeworn Type 3-d embossing folder. This is raised with Dimensionals and decorated with stamped and punched hearts. The With Love sentiment from the set is stamped on to a small die cut label from the Stylish Shapes set. To finish this card I added the glimmer and shine in the form of a trio of Iridescent Pearls and a glittery organdy bow.
I have promised myself that I will endeavour to keep my desk tidy and that means using up scraps too! So, with that in mind, I made a second card. I have used the same ingredients and it is basically the same card, but in reverse!
Despite the second card being made up from leftovers, I think that it is my favourite! Which one do you prefer? I hope that you are inspired by my cards today and that you will continue along the hop to see what the others have created too. Enjoy the projects. We would love to hear from you and so if you have been inspired, please leave a comment.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty cards! Love your colors and textures.
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with both cards
ReplyDeleteOh. After a while of thinking about it, I think the blue dominant one is the prettier one but they're both lovely creations! Thank you and congratulations!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely cards Karen. Hard to pick which one I prefer. Generally love white space but the tone on tone of the blue looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I do love these cards, Karen! Thanks for sharing this!đŸ’•
ReplyDeleteThink I'm like you and love the leftover card - it's the perfect amount of blue. Love the touch of mesh ribbon you used for the sketch element! Thanks of the inspirations as always. xx
