Scalloped Contours two ways!

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am casing myself and using the Scalloped Contours dies and making a tried and tested card layout. There is no shame in using a card sketch or casing a card - absolutely no need to reinvent the wheel!  When I am short of time, or inspiration, I often look through the cards I have made in the past to help me get started. I've already used this layout to make a batch of cards for a swap and for thank you cards, so I thought I would try it again using completely different products.

One of my jobs to do this weekend is to plant up some pots for the garden to give us some Autumn colour. I like pots with a variety of foliage and maybe a splash of colour from some heathers or cyclamen, but I also adore bowls of pansies. Their nodding heads bring a smile to my face whether they are blooming in the Spring or the Autumn!

So, out came the Pansy Suite! The papers are just so cheerful and I've teamed this colourful sheet up with Polished Pink, Soft Sea Foam and Blackberry Bliss layers. To embellish the card I picked the coordinating Polished Pink ribbon and gems. The Hello sentiment from the set is stamped in Blackberry Bliss on a skinny Soft Sea Foam banner. I do like all the nesting layers!

And, now for another take on the same card using the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite. There is still plenty of time to make Christmas cards and with each one I make I feel closer to my goal of being prepared and not leaving things to the last minute!

This time the colours are Real Red, Basic White, Old Olive and Early Espresso - quite traditional Christmas colours! It's exactly the same arrangement of layers on the card, but doesn't it look different? The sentiment is white heat Embossed on a label from the Pretty Pillowbox dies and adorned with a single red rhinestone.

The Scalloped Contours dies create such beautiful layers and I love using them time after time. Hope you feel inspired to create somthing today. Wish me luck with planting up my pots at the weekend!
