Fine Art Floral Thank You for Kylie's Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop January 2021

Hello! I am participating in a blog hop organised by Kylie and Bruno Bertucci as part of their Demonstrator Training Program. We are a group of Demonstrators from around the world who are taking part in training that is helping us with our Stampin' Up!® business. So, whether you are a regular visitor or if you have hopped in from another blog, I am pleased to welcome you here for this blog hop.

We are sharing ideas for thank you cards to send to our customers that shop with us during January. I have fallen in love with the Fine Art Floral Suite so I am using it again for these thank you cards. The first time I opened this stamp set all I did was to stamp the gorgeous two step images on to a notecard. All it needed was a thank you and the Simple Stamping card was complete!

I often use this approach to get me started with a new set because I find actually stamping the images out helps to generate ideas...the more I stamp the more possibilities I think of. What would it look like in different colours? Would it work with additional layers? Which DSP or embellishments can I add? You get the idea.

The papers feature absolutely beautiful painted backgrounds and flowers - you can actually see the brushstrokes! I white heat embossed the large solid flower and leaves on one of the background papers and I think it looks stunning. The DSP layer is mounted up onto a layer of Pool Party and then on to a notecard. The thank you, which is included in the suite, is stamped on Pool Party using Pretty Peacock ink, punched out using the Classic Label punch and popped up on dimensionals.

One of the other sheets of paper has a very dramatic look with bright, vibrant flowers on a blue background. There is a plain portion of the background just large enough to crop out to sit perfectly on top of the notecard - doesn't the white heat embossing look stunning against the darker blue?

I set out to replicate this look without the need to cut out the same portion of paper from multiple sheets of paper! I stamped the Birch stamp on to Night of Navy card using Night of Navy ink to create a subtle, tone on tone background. Then I flipped the card through 180 degrees and stamped the Birch image again, this time using Versamark ink - I was trying to create a slightly lighter tone for the tone on tone stamping and for the gaps to be filled in.

After leaving the background to dry I continued to stamp and heat emboss the flower and leaves. Yet, despite leaving the background to dry for a
long time, and sitting on top of my Aga, there was still enough tackiness for the embossing power to stick to some of the Birch detail as well as the flower and leaves. Not quite the effect I had set out to achieve, but I have to say it grew on me! So much so that this card has become my favourite one of the bunch and the one I will send out to my customers. A happy accident as they say! I have packed away the Fine Art Floral Suite for now so that I can start to create with some of the other goodies I have lined up!
