So, on to my project for today. The Designer Series Paper included in the Parisian Blossoms Suite features Pool Party, and although I haven't used the DSP today I have chosen to use Pool Party, which conveniently coordinates with the new So Very Vellum papers. They are part of the second wave of Sale-A-Bration items that are now available and I have been itching to use them. The Vellum has a raised dotty pattern and there are three colours - Pool Party, Highland Heather and Soft Sea Foam. This seemed like a perfect opportunity to use it!
I have a Gray Granite card base topped with a full height layer of Whisper White and the Pool Party vellum is just a shade thinner than the white layer. The feature of the card is the coloured strip. I stamped the flowers from the large spray on to a strip of thick Whisper White card using Gray Granite ink. They are only partial images, focussing on the flowers. I chose to colour with Stampin' Blends. The flowers are Pool Party and the leaves are Old Olive. The empty space was filled in with Light Gray Granite. By adding a layer of Wink of Stella ther is some extra sheen on the petals.
I wrapped a few twists of White Baker's Twine around the layers. The coloured strip is then popped up on Dimensionals over the twine. In addition, I stamped and die cut some extra white and Pool Party single flowers. These are topped with a flower from our regular Vellum that has been stamped and heat embossed in silver. There is also a couple of Old Olive leaves to add some extra texture to the card. The final touch was to add silver Metallic pearls to the centre of the coloured flowers.
