Bright & Beautiful Balloons for Kylie's International Blog Highlights - August 2023

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights for August 2023 - the theme is Thank you. The colours of the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper give such a happy vibe and I am having so much fun using them. The Bright & Beautiful Suite fits the bill for a wide variety of occasions be it a graduation, a birthday or indeed a shout out for someone who has done a thoughtful deed or favour.

I've combined streamers, balloons and stars on a bridge fold card to show gratitude for someone who has done an outstanding job and gone above and beyond.

The card base is made from Blueberry Bushel card and it's decorated with DSP covered in stars and stripes. I could have picked any of the coordinating colours from the stripy paper, but I decided upon Lemon Lolly for the backdrop. These colours simply zing together!

To decorate the Lemon Lolly layer I stamped several streamers and then added a strip of Lemon Lolly topped with an embossed layer of Blueberry Bushel to act as a bridge to stabalise the card. After that I set about adding balloons and stars to the sides of the card to add texture and volume. I love that two of the smaller balloons float up, out of the arrangement and this was easy to achieve using thin slivers of Window Sheet to support them.

The sentiment, from the Season of Chic set, is just perfect for my card! There's a section on the back of the card to write a message and the card folds flat for posting (and it fits in a standard size envelope too).

All Star Design Team Blog Hop - Bright & Beautiful Suite

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am delighted to be part of the All Star Video Class Group. We create a Video Class Bundle with exclusive tutorials complete with photos, video directions and a supply list that includes both Metric and Imperial measurements, and we also hop together each month sharing another project using the monthly suite.

This month we are using the Bright & Beautiful Suite and this is a sneak peek of the projects included in this month's bundle of video tutorials.

Thank you for joining me today for the All Star Design Team Video Class Bundle Blog Hop for August 2023. At the start of each month, each member of the team creates another project using the featured suite of products to give you even more inspiration.

Here is my additional Bright & Beautiful Suite project. This suite is so versatile. It covers all sorts of occasions and the bright, happy colours in the papers are a joy to create with.

For my project today I have made a simple, yet effective (I hope!), fun-fold card. The stripy sheet of DSP combines so many beautiful colours that it was tricky to decide which ones to focus on. In the end I made two versions; Lemon Lime Twist with BlueBerry Bushel and Berry Burst teamed up with Bubble Bath. And, I like them both!

The front leaf of the card is shortened and an additional flap is attached to the back of the card. In doing this there is the opportunity to showcase two separate papers and then add some balloons to celebrate. Will it be a graduation, a new home, a new arrival, exam success...the list is a long one!

Detail is added to the balloons using tone on tone stamping and they are tied together using Bakers Twine. The smaller of the two is popped up with dimensionals before adding the banner carrying the sentiment.

I've added die cut stars as additional decoration, and I particularly like the tiny ones that are created with the confetti die in the set.
