Fond of Autumn for Kylie's International Project Highlights for October 2022

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights for October 2022 - the theme is Thank you. At our school's recent Harvest Festival service we were reminded that the little things in life should be cherished and applauded. Saying Thank You is definitely one of those little things that makes all the difference. Nature gives us plenty of little things to appreciate and as the seasons change there are new things to notice every day. Autumn has most certainly arrived, so I turned to the Fond of Autumn Bundle to make my Thank You card today.

I began making this card knowing that I wanted to represent Autumn on a card and that I needed to do some colouring. Colouring is one of those little things that I appreciate - I find it relaxing to do whether I am using my colouring pencils, my Blends or watercolouring. Adding colour brings an image to life and you can choose different colours depending on your mood!

I stamped the large decorative image on Shimmery White cardstock using Soft Suede ink, which I felt was a little less harsh than using Black Memento. This large image
was die cut it to separate it into smaller elements and then colour was added with Stampin' Blends. I used Light Mossy Meadow on the leaves and built up the colour on the larger leaves to create a slightly deeper shade. The flower petals are coloured with Dark Flirty Flamingo and a hint of Dark Melon Mambo blended into the centres to provide depth. The flower centres are coloured in Soft Suede. The little berries have a hint of colour near the stem and then they are slathered liberally with a Wink Of Stella glitter to give them a real bloom.

To add contrast, a trio of single flowers were stamped on Sahara Sand card and tucked in behind the colourful flowers. I think they add an earthy Autumnal feel to the arrangement. The sentiment is stamped on Shimmery White card in Soft Suede ink. I used my Snips to closely trim out the sentiment.

The Fabulous Frames dies provide the backdrop for the flowers and the background layers have added texture from the Timeworn Type and Timber embossing folders. I am really pleased with all the layers and texture in this card. I hope you like it too.
