Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am taking part in a blog hop with some fellow enthusiasts who love sharing their creative talents using their Stampin' Up!® products. This month the Stamping Inkspirations blog hop is all about Christmas Tunes.
My card today is for a friend who loves the countryside and anything to do with nature. They have a real soft spot for deer! I feel as if I have been immersed in Christmas tunes for weeks now because the bulid up to Christmas starts early in Primary School. We have songs to learn for the plays and the service in Church and yesterday we were treated to a whole host of of festive tunes at the pantomime.
So, my card is a Christmas Medley both in terms of songs and techniques. I can see references to dashing through the snow, silent night, snow lying deep and crisp and even and the musical note embossing folder could reperesent any song of your choosing!
The embossed white musical layer sits on a top folding Evening Evergreen card and the little scene sits within a Scalloped Contours die cut layer. I stamped a row of trees in Evening Evergreen ink across the width of the white layer. The darker trees are stamped full strength and the lighter ones are stamped off first. The bottom portion of this white layer was then embossed using the Wintry 3-d folder adding texture and giving the illusion of a snowy bank.
Using a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink I created a bluish bloom around the outside edges of the card. I couldn't decide how I wanted the sky to look, so I have made two versions. To one of the cards I added a few gold heat embossed stars and the other one simply has a gleaming die cut gold foil star. Both cards have a stamped and punched deer for decoration (I punched a couple of extra deer and layered them up to make it a bit more sturdy), a Merry Christmas stamped in Evening Evergreen and a trio of gold metallic pearls.
I hope that you are inspired by my card today and that you will continue along the hop to see what the others have created too. Enjoy the projects. We would love to hear from you and so if you have been inspired, please leave a comment.
