Hand-Penned Petals - Top Ten International Highlights Winners Hop August 2021

Hello and welcome to my blog. Earlier in the month, I participated in Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights and after the voting had closed I was delighted to find myself in the Top Ten!

Thank you so much to everyone who visited the gallery and voted for my card. If you missed it, you can read all about it here. I am absolutely thrilled to be eligible to take part in this winner's hop. 

For my card for today I have chosen to use some of the same products, but the card looks completely different.  I have oohed and aahed over the Pinwheel Tower cards that I've seen since they burst onto the scene and now I have finally made some! They are a perfect vehicle to show off our fabulous designer series paper and I wanted to make this one into a special Thank You card. 

The Pinwheel base is made from Basic Black card which is a great background for the Hand-Penned papers. The delicate flowers really pop against the black.

I continued the Hand-Penned theme for the decoration and included both stamped and die cut elements. The Tailored Tag dies come in two styles in four different sizes - I used the smallest for the Thanks and the largest to create the space to write a message on. 

A white base card with the Beautifully Penned papers works really well too - I think I'm hooked!

Whimsy & Wonder for the Clean & Simple Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop August 2021

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am delighted to be taking part in the Ink and Inspiration blog hop for August. The theme this month is Clean & Simple and I have chosen to feaure the Whimsy & Wonder Suite from the July-December Mini Catalogue.

I have to admit that I am a little out of my comfort zone with creating a clean & simple card - I know that the simple refers to the make up of the card, but I find them anything but simple and I always want to add more! I've made a card I'm happy with, although there was a voice in my head repeatedly saying clean & simple! I reined myself in, resisted the temptation to add more layers and refrained from adding ribbons and gems. 

My mission to be organised for Christmas has faltered a little, so to address that I have chosen to use the Whimsy & Wonder Suite for my card. The designer series paper I picked is delicately printed with Mint Macaron trees, has flecks of silver and plenty of white space. Staying with the white, silver Mint Macaron colour scheme, I die cut a trio of trees to add to the snowy slope. The lower portion of the card is embossed using the Wintry snowflake folder and the sentiment is silver heat embossed.

Quiet Meadow - Thinking of you

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, I'm sharing a card that I made a batch of to swap with other demonstrators. I love swapping ideas. Inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes - it could be from a sketch or fancy fold, a colour combination or an introduction to a stamp set that I hadn't previously appreciated! It was a postal swap which is great fun, but not quite as much as at an in person event. Fingers crossed we will be able to enjoy those again in the future.

I combined some of my favourite products for this card - they aren't all from the same suite or bundle but they work together brilliantly. The layering possibilities of the Scalloped Contour dies are endless. Here, I have nested two of them together and inlaid a matted piece of Hand-Penned DSP in the centre. 

From the Quiet Meadow bundle I have used the sentiment, which fits perfectly on to the die cut label, and the flower silhouette. The colours I used were Garden Green, Basic White, Mint Macaron and Basic Black to coordinate with the DSP. I really like this layout and I'm definiely going to try using it again with some other colours and papers! Perhaps I could even try a Christmas design to restart my mission to be organised this year!
