Joy to the World

Hello and welcome to my blog. I enjoyed casing the catalogue and fell in love with the layout of the card that I created. So much so that I decided to use exactly the same sketch for a new batch of cards.

I used the stamp set from my Paper Pumpkin Kit and the 'Tis the Season 6" x 6" stack of papers. I realised that I could get two cards from one sheet of
6" x 6" and still have some left over for another project. Win win!

I prepped a pile of ingredients and completing each task one step at a time until I had a pile of completed cards. The colours are the traditional green and red, but the Soft Sea Foam adds a fresh twist to the combination. The wreath is stamped in Soft Sea Foam on Whisper White card and adorned with some Cherry Cobbler berries. Joy and to the world are also stamped in Cherry Cobbler and each piece is mounted on a Cherry Cobbler layer before mounting all the elements on to a Soft Sea Foam base. So one batch done...and then another!

The alternative colour combination is Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce.

The cards were easy to put together, although adding the gold thread highlights under the to the world banner probably took as long to do as the rest of the card! I unravelled some of the metallic trim in the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack to obtain thin strands of gold and then grouped them under the sentiment securing them with a couple of glue dots. The final embellishment is a single red rhinestone.

I still have the cards that came in the Paper Pumpkin Kit to complete and I have a few pieces of DSP left over from these joy to the world cards that can be put to good use. I think I am going to be kept occupied for a while! I hope you feel inspired to gather some supplies and to create some cards too.
