Let's celebrate you!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am happy to share a card with you for Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights for November. The theme is encouragement.

The fun bit about this Highlight is that you can vote for your favourite five projects in the gallery. At the end of the voting the top ten winners will get the chance to be part of an international blog hop that will take place at the end of November. To make my card I pulled out my Bloom and Grow stamps because not only are the floral images beautiful but so are the words. I adore the script and their meaning is just perfect for cards to encourage and applaud.

My starting point was the sentiment as I wanted that to be the focus of the card. It is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink which pops really well on the Highland Heather layer. The flowers are stamped and silver heat embossed at the top and bottom of the card to frame the words. I enjoyed colouring the flowers using a variety of media. I used some Stampin' Blends; Dark Highland Heather for the tiny four petalled flowers; Dark Purple Posy for the roses and Light Smoky Slate for the leaves. The remaining foliage is coloured with either clear Wink of Stella or Frost White Shimmer Paint.  The overall effect is subtle, which is just what I had hoped for.

This coloured layer is mounted on to a silver foil layer cut out with a Stitched Rectangle die and finally on to a Gorgeous Grape card base. The stitched edging is a perfect way to frame the flowers.
